I prefer a potential sweet sixteen matchup with Louisville over SMU and Stanford.

I am not surprised at all. Actually think we have a very reasonable chance to BEAT Louisville.

Yeah Louisville is 8 overall and we are 9.Wicked Good Ag said:
On a snake system we are 9th overall.
About right. Our tourney killed us in terms of RPI.

They swept Creighton, Wisconsin, Arizona State, and TCU. They also have wins over Louisville, Stanford, Kentucky, and us. They have 5 more top 25 wins than us and 3 more top ten wins.
Our best win was tu, our next best wins were 14 Minnesota, 21 Rice and 23 Tennessee.

I don't get how we could have a worse seeding with fewer losses and a win against one of the 1 seeds.

Top-16 Seeds
6th-10th spots
The next cluster of teams is sorting out the #6-#8 (2-seeds) and #9-#10 teams (3-seeds). Here they are ordered by RPI:
6 Creighton - 0 T10 wins, 6 T25 wins, 13 T50 wins, H2H among group: L- Louisville
7 Stanford - 2 T10 wins, 3 T25 wins, 11 T50 wins, H2H among group: split w/ Louisville, L- SMU
8 SMU - 3 T10 wins, 6 T25 wins, 8 T50 wins, H2H among group: W- Stanford, Louisville, Texas A&M
9 Louisville - 2 T10 wins, 5 T25 wins, 8 T50 wins, H2H among group: W- Creighton, L- SMU, split w/ Stanford
10 Texas A&M - 1 T10 win, 4 T25 wins, 7 T50 wins, H2H among group: L- SMU
SMU seems to be the favorite among this group, as they beat three of the teams here, and have the most top 10 wins. I will put them at #6 overall, but you can definitely make a case for them to be #5 overall.
The toughest question among this group is what to do with Creighton. Their nitty gritty with six top 25 and 13 top 50 wins is impressive, but none of those T25 wins are among T10 teams - their best win is Kansas, who is a team on the cusp of hosting.
I don't see how Texas A&M inserts itself into this group as one of the leaders, as it feels like they will be an 8, 9, or 10 team.
With Stanford jumping up to 7 in RPI and winning at Louisville, I feel that the committee will look past the relatively low three T25 wins and recognize that two of them are in the top 10, including one over regional host Pittsburgh, and put them at the 7 spot.
Louisville, with the H2H over Creighton, will then slot in at 8.
The debate comes between Creighton and Texas A&M at 9. If the committee really values top 10 wins and having a huge win over a regional host - one that Creighton lost to - it will go to Texas A&M. However, if they value Creighton's RPI, KPI, and simple volume of T25/T50 wins, it will be Creighton above Texas A&M.

Round 1 Friday 12/4 game is 6:30 A&M vs Campbell
Round 2 Saturday 12/5 7:00 A&M vs TCU (barring a shocker)
TCU was a 4 seed a few weeks ago but has struggled down the stretch.
Bottom line - Pack Reed!!!

(TCU vs SFA at 4pm 12/4 in Reed as well)

So they counted the tournament this year. Oh well, make it up as you go along.

First, we could only have been in the Pitt or Nebraska regions because they try to keep top 4 seed conference teams out of the same bracket, if possible. As for a two vs a three seed, they essentially said we are the best 3 seed going against the weakest 2 seed which means going to the overall top seed. Even if they moved us to a 2, we likely would have still faced the same team also in Lincoln. The only differences are what color uniforms we were and which locker room we occupy.
In other words, this seems like a reasonable bracket for us given our results this year.

The person hired by the NCAA to cover college volleyball for them and to promote the sport has been telling us for a good month that isn't true and has regularly had us in the Texas or Kentucky region. What sources do you have better than her's? And why did no one that she interviews tell her that she was wrong all along?
