To compare, Stowers was also ranked in the 16-18 range in her class. Castle was the #16 recruit in her class. Stowers became a 2nd team all American her RS sophomore year….. castle will be a RS sophomore next year. Just saying

was just thinking...would Morrison recruit someone who demands the utmost attention and the team built around one player?
For instance, would he take a Babcock? Incredible player, no idea how she truly is as a person and teammate, but if you take her, you have to build the team around her. Her personality and play style kind of demands that.

Barely missed a game. Wish TexAgs covered volleyball more proactively through the year and not just when things look exciting. When a major staff member and host just learns that the 5th set is 15 points....not a good look for TexAgs knowledge base of the sport. Just saying.

Do you mean opposites (to replace Logan) rather than outside. Kyndal is probably outside #1, but is listed as outside/opposite, so could potentially move to opposite. Fitch is probably outside #2 out of those returning from the current roster.

that was just an example as a prime example of the player type I was contemplating

His balance is based on development of players and culture.

I take his balance statement more as we are strong in all areas. Which is one of the main reasons we are so hard to defend.
This has been known about our team all season.
Any player that comes to A&M should easily know this is our setup and we are a team first mentality. Jaime is not going to not take a talented a player. Also per what Logan said about Baycock she's an unselfish player. Pitt goes to her more not bc she's selfish but bc they are not strong in all areas such as us.
Also with our results talented players are going to be very interested.

They're saying she wants to play opposite. Not sure how all that will go down or what conversations were had. It's still surprising how fast she left Texas too. What I'm really surprised with is how tu hasn't made any moves. I know they have a lot of young talent, but still shocking

I'm a pessimist. I still don't think we will get the benefit of the doubt quite yet. Everyone saying it's a bunch of seniors doing senior things. Or NIL won it for them.
They don't understand what Morrison's contribution as an elite coach really is. Sure Stowers was a big arm but her story is unique and it took a while for her to get going. I wonder how much of her growth was from Morrison. Every starter has shown tremendous growth under his tutelage.
I hope I'm 100% wrong and we get amazing transfers to only need to rebuild a little next season with another deep run!

NIL means nothing if you can't coach. I'm thinking about SMU. Transfer the hell out of them but they haven't made a deep run (though a little closer). I don't watch them much and maybe their coach is good? But I can't tell. They just steam roll teams from talent alone. But they don't look like they play as a team. I also think NIL bit the texas team last year. No chemistry.

Portal also doesn't always provide unity or poise, which this team had a ton of. The level of trust and grit this team had to succeed under stress was nothing short of amazing.

My optimism thinks the exact opposite of you. I think Jaime will be able to pick whom he likes. Of course not every single one but he will do well.
And this is for several reasons.
First, the unity and the positivity the players continually showed. How they just have fun.

I agree with this! We did this with a roster, if you add up all the high schools rankings, doesnt even compare to Nebraska, Louisville, Kentucky, Texas and even Pitt. Logan was a late riser and ended up a top 60 prospect. ICO was like #92. Waak was barely top 60. Emily wasn't ranked. Surprisingly, I think Underwood was the second highest ranked prospect for us as a top 40 libero out of high school. Perkins might have been a borderline top 100 player. Stowers is the highest ranked prospect at #16. The story of this team is truly development. I absolutely trust Jamie to hand select players that fit the needs of this team.
We have a stud setter in the waiting. Stud OH that played a pivotal serving specialist role. We have a stud MB that had the chance to learn from two of the best. Addi Applegate with Rodriguez will be our best libero room in decades(potentially).

Fitch and her sister are both National Champions as her sister played on the tennis team that took it all few years ago!!!
We had better see some announcements in the next few days.....no time to relax....portal crunch time if we wanna have a shot at a deep run next year.
