Thank you. In general, is it difficult at this level for a OH to learn and switch to Opp. and vice versa?

6'1 Outside Hitter - Natalie Ring
3rd Team All American, All Big East, 4.54 kills a set, 0.33 aces per set
6'3 - Middle - Eliza Sharp
Would be an insane pick up She averaged 1.23 blocks a set and 2.21 kills a set as a freshman! Mountain West Freshman of the Year and All Conference
6'4 - Middle - Kaia Castle
Former top 20 recruit, 1.94 kills a set, 0.88 blocks a set.
Both middles with 3 years of eligibility… wow

Depends on the athlete. Most opposites are left handed while OHs are right handed. Also very common for one or the other to hit at least one rally on the opposite pin before transitioning to their base pin.

I thought the commentators said Logan being a LH opposite was pretty unique and presented a challenge for opponents.

Has Natalie Ring committed? With Jamie's emphasis on development Eliza Sharp and Castle make sense, they are still young and time to grow. Is Ring someone to give us some senior leadership? Stop-gap until Fitch is ready?
No doubt she's talented and would contribute, but Jamie hasn't recruited a ton of one-and-done types here.
it was for certain knee injury that required surgery, just don't know the exact injury. She got surgery in September I believe. She was standing with the rest of the bench the last few matches after sitting on the bench most of the seasonJack Pearson said:
Does anyone know what was actually wrong with Manning? Did she have surgery? Approx recovery time?

He has taken one and done. Eli Stenson was a one and done LS/DS last year.

Right, but I think his preference is to develop from within if possible. Losing so much senior leadership this does make sense and Ring seems like she'll be a great fit.
I do like for the most part we get multiple years with these ladies to get to know them and not just a revolving door. It's coming together nicely and looking like the fallout from so many graduating is certainly going to be minimized with these portal gets.

Saw that rumor, that would be huge, but she plays the same position as Stowers and Ring. We would need one of the 3 to switch to Opposite probably!

Do you think one could do that? Or do you think we target a portal player that is already an Opposite to replace Logan?

I believe 2 (counting Eliza Sharp of Boise State who hasn't made it official) you can fill up to 18, but it's also not a requirement. This year we had 17.

Jamie mentioned doing 1-on-1s with the remaining players as far as goals, etc. Assuming this is when those leaving the program would step up. I hope they all stay.

Pitt got one of the best transfer, Izzy Starck from Penn State.

Ring would replace Helmuth in the rotation.
