I don't think the t.u. girls will be even close in the 200 free relay.

For the boys, I think it will be the same as the 200 medley. We'll hold a small margin after 3 legs, but then Jimmy "the Great Equalizer" Feigen will give them the win.

Why do they have so much trouble sending live stats to the web?

We have mens 200 free relay times but not the womens.

I think the computer operator needs to click the "send to web" button.

How about Dalton's 19.28 split matching up with Walter's 19.26!

Feigen once again was the difference almost single-handedly.

The women win in a close race. The splits were not noteworthy. No 21s.

Just in - Aggies 1-2 in women's diving. Great job.

The 200 IM was huge for us. Must have been a hell of race between JW and Hersey.

The 50 seems a bit slow. But we blunted tu's opportunity a bit with the 2-3 finish.

Casey Strange was great in the 50.

All in all a great day for the Ags - men and women.

Julia Wilkinson does fo sho...we are all witnessing something special out of her; if you didn't enjoy that 200 IM between those two incredibly talented warriors then you don't like sports

A heck of a lot of other girls are putting on a show as well up and down the roster...there are far too many to name them all -- people that really jumped out at me today were Kinder (4:44 in the C final...whaaat?) and the entire IM group 1-3-4-5-7...wow...just wow...

A&M was down 26 at this point last year..this year -- up 72...this group is on a mission

EDIT: Have to give a shout out to the divers to Potvin getting second was huge and Jaele was, Jaele,..Lujan getting in the A final was also very big

Very good session overall for both sides. some ups and downs, more ups than downs id say. Relays started off with a bang, Julia again on the anchor was great, very nice win. No insanely fast splits really for us, but 22.0 for julia was very impressive. Relay exchanges were SLOW!!! definitely better safe than sorry, but theres room to improve there for sure.

Guys relays, spice is right, Feigen once again made the difference. That relay has the potential to be faster too. HECK of an anchor by Dalton AGAIN. that guy keeps getting better every time he hops in the pool.

500 was HUGE for the ladies. Maureen straight up beat Gingrich because she flat out wanted it more, bottom line. you could tell she was gonna win the whole last 25 just cuz she didnt want to get beat. Also a very nice swim for Hannah Kinder in the first heat, 4:44low, on the B squad.

BigPapa was pretty darn close on his prediction, minus the A cut part of course. Omar waited just a tad too long to kick it into the higher gear or he definitely would have broken 420 and gotten 3rd. Another school record for his book. Gives the guys 4 school records in 6 events so far, not too shabby. Jensen Ried, "The Bionic Arm", had a heck of a race in the consol heat to come roaring back for the win, in lifetime best fashion. Always good to see that guy swim well, especially after all the hard work and years of frustrating injuries. Jostes for tu was out FAST, and Wilcox came back to take it, that was fun to watch also. Jostes didnt really look like he died, but it was very obvious that Wilcox was the miler also haha.

Girls IM was awesome, starting from Emily Neal in the B heat, and ending with Julia winning and the 5 Aggies dominating the A final. Oh, and Emily Neal is my sleeper pick to make some noise in the 4im tomorrow...may not be much of a sleeper i guess, but shes gonna be fast, her 2im looked dang good. Lindsey King was flyin on the backstroke leg, so look for her tomorrow in the 100bk. Julia again on the last lap just took over, though Hersey did give her quite a run the whole race through.

Guys IMs were good but not great I thought. Wouldve like to see Nikita be faster and knock off a texas guy (or 2). Nice swim for Amini in the consol heat, getting under 150 for the first time. everyone else was just off their prelim times (which i believe were personal bests for most). Surhoff for tu was sick...sick...143...yuck

50s for the girls were good, but Bispo had a heck of a swim, tough to beat that.

Great to see Casey get back into the teens, and break up the horns for once! Boris had a great swim in the consol heat, 20.2

I guess thats all my thoughts from tonight. Tomorrow is gonna be a great day again! As a great friend of mine always says "meets like this are won and lost in the morning session". So both teams need to get the jobs done tomorrow morning. GIG EM AGS!

The women have a 72 point lead over tu right now.

Should be a good day tomorrow. I think Gingrich will be ever so slightly tired in the 400 IM since she race the 500 twice today. None of our 400 IM leaders have raced that much.

The men are pulling away from MU and hanging in there with tu.

Dalton is a big bag of fast. 19.2? He is for sure sub 20 flat-footed. Adding Troskot will separate the aggies from a ton of teams. The guys will keep all 4 of the B final IMers. That's a decent look for the next year or two. El Mar was moving. I'm looking forward to his mile. Going 1-2 in the girls 500 seemed to demoralize tu.

Consider this: Our guys are closer to t.u's than tu's girls are to our girls. I mean, that has partially to do with how few mens teams there are, but that says a whole heck of a lot about how well both teams are swimming.

Spice- Dalton's a 200 guy that can pull the 500 and kick the 100 & 50. Definitely a potent combination.

Ried rocked the house tonight! Awesome to see him drop big and beat the kitty cats.

Omar's a boss. He did wait just a little too long, but there's always next month.

JWilkinson = ridiculous.
KHeiss = BAMF.
CS gets the saw 'em off award for breakin up the orange.
TW = choke!!
JA = bullet (22.95?!)
Nice job Fonua getting under 1:50 in the 2IM.

And a someone who might get overlooked but still swam big on the women's side: Allison Sweeny put away the B 500fr pretty handily.

Anyway, some amazing swims from both teams. Tomorrow should be very exciting. Hopefully the men can stay close to Texas. And cue the "beef it's what's for dinner" theme song b/c it's gonna be a slaughter over on the women's side!!

I think you mean the 200 IM C final on Sweeney but I agree 2:01 in the C final is LEGIT too...five years ago that makes the A easily...just so many stinking good performances that's it's amazing...I just noticed that the girls won every single finals race they had someone in (A through C) with the exception of the 50 A (2nd & 3rd) and C (3rd)...that is about as dominant as you can get...

Keep the heat on 'em girls!

You make a great point Blastoff...props to the guys for their continual solid swims...let's get some more folks to NC's boys!

Wow maybe my eyes and memory are failing me...that sucks
for the record, its my eyes that are failing me, because i found out yesterday that this is the first year at Big 12s that they have done the relays at the beginning of the session. They switched it around, because usually the 400MR is at the end of finals Thursday, then the 200frR is at the beginning on Friday. So i wasnt completely making that up! Whew what a relief

I was wondering the same thing myself. I didnt see anything blatantly obvious, but then again I wasnt really paying full attention to him. He was pretty quick (1:45low i think?) last year in that, so hes gonna hafta make the meet in another event, or time trial that later.

girls loaded in A final of IM, got 4 to tu's 2, but the sips are stacked in B final and we have zip. gonna hafta make the A final swims count tonight. Great swims for Omar and Wagner. Both getting under 4min, and given the circumstances I would guess that they will be able to race that much harder and faster tonight.

Finally, live results!

Brian Snowden in the 100 br. 53.97. Huge.

The guys have a lot of swimmers in striking distance of a Big 12 individual title. Gotta imagine at least one will pull it off, right?!

Great morning for the guys for sure!! Look for another school record from Omar tonight in that IM. fantastic backstroke for John Ariens! they sure did a great job of getting our people into finals in all events this morning. Looking at his splits (he even split it), Id say Jason was loafing that race. good things for tonight. The breastrokes, holy crap! Snowden showing some speed! things looking good for the Medley tonight, and his 200 breast tomorrow! while tu is certainly not "weak" in the guys breastrokes, it is definitely one area where we are as strong as them (if not stronger than) them in. Call me crazy, but I think that relay tonight is gonna be one heck of a race to start off the session. Everyone expects tu to whallop us, but it aint gonna happen. Probably gonna come down to Feigen vs Balazs, lets just hope we can give Balazs some/any small sort of room to work with, he's a fighter and will go down swinging thats for sure.

The girls are gonna hurt in that 100 breast with just Alia scoring points, but across the board they should be alright for the night if they can get the swims they expect/need in the other areas. That relay is going to be extremely important tonight, not just for points but for momentum. the sips are hurting after last nights beat down, so watch for them coming out of the gates tonight. Not sure if they have the man power (or woman power) to do it, but its gonna be a close one.

Great swims by the guys this morning.

It looks like tu is positioned to regain some ground in the women's. That breast will hurt us - but we knew that. We're gonna get hurt in 200 free too. tu puts 4 in the A final to our 2. 100 back looks good for us.

Snowden's 53.97 is damned impressive.

They may pick up a few pts but it's based more on sheer entries today than anything else...this looks like their strongest day...and if the Ags keep winning races like they are it will help limit that damage to minimal

Jaele 1st going into finals. Another strong diving night will help too.

Who will be in the 400 medley relay?

Wilkinson<>Riefenstahl/Guro (Ags +)
Atkinson<>Sogar (Ags ++)
Chernoff<>Hersey (tu ++)
Woods(?)<>Bispo (tu +)

t.u. women will definitely catch up some today.

Spice-that's what I predict will be the relay. I would guess Riefenstahl, just because of the name and expectation of a bigger performance, but hard to say for sure what coach is thinking, I guess.

In my http://theswimmerscircle.com/blog/2010/02/26/aggie-women-vault-into-lead-in-day-2-of-big-12s/ day 3 outlook on theswimmerscircle, I wrote that this relay will have a little different dynamic to it than the others have. With Wilkinson leading off and Alia going second, A&M will get out to a big lead, and this time t.u.'s studs (Hersey and Bispo) will have to chase down the A&M swimmers. Should be another great finish, but hopefully Woods will be able to do what the 'sips haven't, and hold off the charge.

My bold prediction(s) for tonight: Aggie guys shock the horns with a 400MR victory, then 2 of the Aggie breastrokers get into the top 3, at least one of them breaking Mr. Jacobo's school record.

My guess:
Bergstrom
Snowden? (hard to deny him after that swim this a.m.)
Loncaric
Makany

There are multiple options on both breast and free legs

Spice I agree with what you have there on the girls relay though I think Simpson or King on back and Julia on anchor would be good too...A&M will really need a good leg out of Chernoff to give them a shot at it IMO...will be interesting to see how big the lead is at the halfway mark...

Ill do a quick breakdown for you Blastoff:

Im with LOB for the order. If Bergstroms 50 back split on Wednesday is any indication, he is gonna be close to, if not under his school record time from last years NCAA leadoff in this race. A 46low wouldnt surprise me at all. Id give the breast to Snowden based on his morning swim, but it wouldnt surprise me to see Lavery up there. He has the lifetime faster time, so who knows. My money is on Snowden. Boris and Balazs are the easy pics to bring it home. here's my thoughts for the horns relay:

Bk: Cragin/Caskey
Br: Spann/D'Innocenzo
Fly: Taylor/Caskey
Fr: Feigen

Their first 3 legs are such a toss up, one small mistake from Eddie in choosing could cost them big time. I could see Bergstrom edging whoever they put up in back, Snowden hanging even with Spann to keep a slight lead, and Boris extending the lead a tad to give Balazs a small (half second maybe) lead on Feigen. Can he hold a half second lead? who knows, but like I said before, hes not gonna go down without a fight. I know/have heard that Feigen is a super competitor and loves to race, but Ill take the scary bald hungarian in a slugfest for the finish. Who knows if the guys can pull it off, but that would be the upset of the meet hands down I think.
