Its a rolling 52 week total point system. Nadal won Wimbledon last year so he can not gain any points this year but Djokovic can since he did not make the final last year, thus he passes him no matter what happens Sunday. His #1 ranking is really on the strength of the Masters series and his domination of those tournaments this year plus being 4-0 versus Nadal, especially when considering if Nadal wins on Sunday he would have won 5 of the last 6 majors.

The Djoker takes the first set of the men's final, 6-4. This should be a battle! High level of tennis being played by both, Nadal did not have a hiccup on his serve til the last game of the set

what a reversal. Agree about Djoker....I think he just dropped his focus bigtime after going up 2 sets...can't do that against Nadal who is going to go all out until the final point.

it's a battle of excessive dribbling vs. excessive towel wiping and walking around between serves.

on a serious note, that was big time for Novak to survive his opening service game then get a break...but he still has to hold here to make it stick.

a lot of that has to do with him having to press a bit, as Djoker can play that game of hitting back and forth with him a lot better than anyone else out there.

Congrats to Djoker though. He is still having an amazing season.
