yeah, i'd say serena's 3rd best behind navratilova and evert. graf has the most slams, but she literally had no competition aside from monica seles.

I think Serena would destroy Everet. Graf and Martina had the athleticism to defeat her but that would be no sure bet.

Will Stosur win a set today off of Serena?

I really want her to, and I really want Sam to win, but I think serena wins in straights.

I see it going 1 and 2. Stosur only wins a set if Serena falls asleep from boredom. Of course she has done that before so a set isn't an impossibility.

That really sucked for Stosur.

Crazy match. I didn't think Stosur had a chance. That's why you have to play the game. And Serena was very gracious to Samantha after the match - good for her. Failed the shake the chair ump's hand - shame on her.

Stosur has such a strong forehand.

Caroline needs to really work on being more aggressive and getting stronger on her forehand side.

Seems like a couple years ago(i realize this was talked about on the telecast the other night) when she was a contender she was hitting the ball harder and with more aggression. As #1 she's almost playing defensive at times, and it hurts her. She needs to continue to improve her game as #1. It was really apparent against that little hottie Cibulkova at Wimbledon, and of course last night.

Stosur played like a top 3 female in this tournament. She definitely has the tools.

Just now seeing the altercation between Serena and the chair ump. It pisses me off that she acts like that, and no one does anything. And she will end up being the victim in this whole thing, like two years ago.

At times, she can be a disgrace to American tennis.

Read every one of these GS threads. I'm the biggest fan of Federer. However, I will give tons of credit to Rafa or Novak because of the classy champions they have both become. Sure Rafa has his quirks, but he handles himself with class. Novak was a fiesty young jackass, and I used to not stand him, but he has grown up and matured, and so has his game. I love him for that.

Even the top 2 rivals of my favorite player I can respect and enjoy watching them win a GS because they respect their sport.

Serena shows absolutely no respect for her sport. Maybe she respects her opponent, but not her sport or her situation on the biggest stage.

Wearing emotions on your sleeve is one thing. Verbally degrading officials is another.

I don't know about that... Tennis is known for having an extremely strict drug testing policy.

And I know it's probably consistent with similar penalties, but Serena only got fined $2,000 for her terrible behavior. Drop in the bucket.

Strict? No way. Why would they? All Tennis guys look like pencil neck geeks. It's obvious they aren't using. But this Aussie chick looks like she benches 300. The guys all look like the would struggle with just the bar.

Haha, compared to athletes in other major sports I guess you could say that. You just don't need all that bulk on the court.

As for today, Novak looks unstoppable. There have been some great strategic points so far from both guys, but Novak has been dominant.

Novak looking great today in the little i've been able to see. You know this is tearing Roger up.

He let it slip away and I think he would have taken it to rafa on the hard court.

Let's see if Novak can wrap up one of the best seasons ever here in this final set.

This is unreal. They've had some unbelievable points with extremely heavy hitting. You can see and feel just how much they want this win, but Novak is taking the most important points.
