Started a job at Talladega Superspeedway about 2 and half months ago. I had never been to a NASCAR race before and maybe only watched a full race once. I went to the Circuit of the Americas Formula 1 race in Austin, but that's a completely different animal.

Anyway, now I'm a huge nerd for NASCAR and racing in general. You gain a whole new appreciation and respect for the sport being that close to it- pretty amazing stuff.

How'd you score that job?! I may get in contact with you in the near future. That sounds awesome. I also know someone who does marketing for NASCAR sponsors out of Charlotte that I've been interested in too. Would love to work with NASCAR in some capacity

It's an amazing network of people, and there's no other sport in the world that comes close to its level of accessibility for fans to the biggest stars, teams, & venues.

Yeah agree. My true fandom started by randomly being able to sit in a suite at TMS of one of the major sponsors of the track at the time. Been going to multiple races a year ever since. Only weekends each year that can compare to Saturdays at Kyle.

Strange race tonight. Thought Kahne was the class of the field all night but was a sitting duck on that last restart. Good win for Harvick though. I still think Jimmie gets his 6th championship this season but a long way to go!

Same here. I tell them if they would just go to a race and try to understand everything that goes into it they would become fans. Usually get blown off though.

I go to Houston Motorsports Park a couple times a month... 3/8 mile, asphalt oval.

nascar.com. The audio only for the season is like $30 IIRC. I split it with some people and it allows us to all use same login from multiple places so we just pay 10 a piece for the year.
