Kahne blows a right front while leading.
Jr loses a cylinder while leading.
Jimmie blows a left side running 2nd while
chasing down the leader with 3 to go.

Yes. My son and I are Jeff Gordon fans and I can't figure out why he is not competing well. He had the car to compete at Daytona but has not been even close since. I would like some opinions. Educated ones please.

He was well on his way to winning at Texas before he had a problem late. By far best car of the night there.

He's had a very tough luck season, but there have also been times when they haven't been able to put it all together

Ray Evernham.
Gordon and Evernham had that magic that is seldom found between driver and crew chief.
The magic that Jimmie and Chad have. I wish Hendrick could get Ray back in the 24 camp.

Two other contributors to Gordon's slide would appear to be father time and the COT. He's only recorded six wins in the past five-plus seasons (going winless in two) after NASCAR switched to the COT full-time (and now Gen-6). Of course, as mentioned already, changes in crew chiefs plays into that, too. I think Gordon said it best this past weekend. When they bring a good car to the track, they have bad luck. When they don't have bad luck, they can't seem to get the car right. That pretty much sums up the past season-and-a-half for him. He's on the downward slope of his career, but with a little better luck, he'll win more races and have more top fives.

JG doing ok so far. Early in these road races key is just to stay up front and out of trouble.

However, the 5 48 88 are looking good.
78 is FAAAAST. He screwed himself with those two pit road infractions.

i've loved it all day. Truex looks like the car to beat. Gordon has done a good job recovering from that bad luck earlier. Hope he can make a late push.

love seeing JPM run out. Great finish by the 24. Really needed that after last week. Sucks for the 24, Jeff really loved his car last week early and was sucked up in that wreck by Labonte. Good response though.

Hate to see a toyota win but I'm happy for Truex ending his streak.
Gordon and all the Hendrick's boys finished well.

Would probably have a couple wins this year if not for dumb mistakes by him or his team.

Nice early start this morning. 88 seems to have gotten most of the damage from that tire debris of the 11. 48 looks fine.
