Denton named SEC Coach of the Year!

This is a very difficult decision for me to have but I am a man of my word. I will be stepping down from my position effective immediately. I will no longer post or read anymore of these informative discussions. I will miss all the brilliant minds who have given me such great insight on both the mens and the womens programs over the years. I will especially forever miss reading about how great of a job Coach Denton has done hear at Texas A&M. I will miss all the friendships that I have made throughout the years, but a promise is a promise! So long and farewell! Best of luck to Coach Denton and I hope that you continue to under achieve in the upcoming years in the same way that you have in the majority of the seasons that you have been here. Adios Amigos!

I am now convinced that Slick is not an Aggie...there is no way an Aggie would sign off by saying that he hopes the coach underachieves in the next few years....etc....an Aggie, even if he did not like the coach would sign off by saying I hope you have the greatest success and the team reaches unbelievable highs....not that they continue to underachieve....

Haven't seen it yet but have heard that there is a photo of Jordan Szabo clinching the match on the cover of 12th man magazine.

The picture of Szabo is true, looks pretty awesome.

Maybe I missed this, but when are the draws announced for both men and women?

I believe announcements are tomorrow late afternoon. Not sure the exact times.

Hard to say who the men might draw. Wouldn't doubt it if Texas is a second rounder for the women.

Men are #8 seed and do Alcorn first.

If we get by Alcorn we will play the winner of the Cal/Texas Tech match on Sunday...if everyone holds serve we would get the Horns in the round of 16....

Looking forward to seeing us host the NCAAs. Seems like the women were seeded way below their current ranking.

As usual, besides hosting the first 2 rounds, the NCAA hasn't done our teams any favors. I was hoping the men might move up at least 1 spot since some of the teams above them lost in their conference tournaments. If things go accordingly, it should be a battle in the sweet 16 against tu. They just got hammered by ou last weekend, but the loss was misleading because they were without Glasspool at #1 dbls and #2 singles. On the womens side: we are the 10 seed despite being ranked 5th last week?? I know location plays a big factor in the Regionals, but it sure looks like the NCAA wants that ATM/tu matchup!

Was not sure how it was going to shake out, but I am just as glad not to be playing Georgia on their home court in the round of 16....

Would have been the NCAA returning the favor since we played them on our courts in 02.

I think they already returned the favor when we drew host Stanford a few years back. And for good measure Krajicek drew Bradley Klahn in the 2nd round of singles.

Not so long range forecast shows a wet Friday and wetter Saturday coming up. Anybody want to project what the fallback plan is if we get rained out? Or do we just wait out the storms and get our tennis in when we can?
