I've heard similar things, but I highly doubt they are true.
Women lose first round to LSU in SEC tourney. Does this jeopardize their chances of making the NCAA tourney ?
With all their impressive wins I'd think they'd still get in but their SEC record was pretty bad..

They were something like 16-12 on the year, should be in with no problem as a 2 or 3 seed.
They will easily be a high 2 seed
What the loss means is that Ags probably won't get the chance to host. Ranked 17 and the top 16 get to host.

Well with losing 5 seniors, I'd say this is a start
Sounds like it is a pretty good recruiting class. It is really hard to say how good they are based on rankings because not all the kids are playing all the itf tournaments for ranking points.
Congratulations to the team for getting invited to the NCAA Tournament. They play at #16 seed Baylor with La Monroe and A&M Corpus also in the regional.
Congratulations to the first all americans in doubles although I find it very funny that is the first time ever for a school that is so proud of and has such high expectations for their tennis programs. I wonder how many all Americans The University of Texas has in doubles? Maybe 50?

Regarding your throw-away question pitting A&M Women's tennis against UT's, how can you even attempt to compare the programs when A&M's Women's team began play in 1980? Such a tool.
So should we wait another 37 years for the next All American doubles team? Remember your coach left for Texas. Wonder why?
Left for tu knowing it's easier to recruit and for a higher salary. Considering we've been ranked higher all this year and his team is currently playing on rec courts because they can't finish the facility, I bet he's looking at taking the USC job now

2-2 with ULM. I can't understand how a program like ours can lose both 1 and 2 singles to a nothing program like ULM.
I agree we shouldn't lose 1 and 2, but have to give ULM credit. 16-1 on the year with only loss coming to Auburn and a win over Tulane who beat LSU. Their 4 girl also has a higher UTR than anybody on our team. So I wouldn't quite call them a nothing program. Could have easily been upset in this one
Ags win 4-2. Bring on the bears. Trip to the sweet 16 or just another season on the line tomorrow.
It's a shame how many people on this site can't really be happy for our programs at Texas A&M. The women's tennis team has advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament and if you really cared about the program's success, you wouldn't nit pick a loss at #1 or #2 singles. Perhaps you are a sexist? Or perhaps you have an agenda like many other's on this site? Or perhaps you have no concept of athletics? Which one is it or is it all of the above?
When I saw that we were tied 2-2, I went to the LA Monroe website and saw those things as well. It was a dangerous matchup as you said they were 16-1 only losing to Auburn. None of the 8 players on their roster were from the U.S. They had 3 from Romania, 2 from Poland, and 1 each from Slovenia, Spain, and Belgium.nick_hershey said:

Another kind of strange tidbit on both school's press releases for the match:
A&M and ULM have faced each other 7 times in women's tennis with ULM holding a 6-1 series lead over Texas A&M.

Good job Lady Ags! Pretty amazing stat that we were 1-7 against this program over the years. That is a real head scratcher that is for sure. Any win in the ncaa tourney is a good win and let's roll with it.

The only time that you hand a compliment is when it is an amazing win and you have to and that makes you feel and sound like you are somehow being non biased on your comments. In a match that some might be interested in, South Carolina beat tu 4-3.
I think the only player who played today with a hometown in the US was Rachel Pierson. I don't know if I've ever seen so many lob balls hit as some of the Monroe players did. I wonder how many people attend Baylor tennis because of lot of the seats had cobwebs. Will have to play much better Sunday to win.
