Camille's bloody nose was result of an inadvertent Hann's kick of the volleyball.

I don't know if it's a coaching thing but I see other teams use overhand passing in free balls yet we're still bump passing. To be honest our free ball passing last night was subpar. Wonder why we don't overhand pass free balls more.

Bump pass is a safer set/pass for nonsetters. If you're not a setter, double contact usually happens and is called.

I would have thought expectations for DS and liberos to have the skills for overhand pass. They are after all usually primary passers and should have good ball handling skills.

I've only been to a few VB matches but we went earlier this season and then both nights this week. That was a lot of fun and we may have to go more often in the future.

But I guess that means I may finally have to learn the substitution rules!

We freeball pass just fine with our forearms but didn't do well in serve receive in terms of placement. No need to switch what is working all season.

Yellow card was for delay. Same exact point Rice got a improper request called on them for trying to sub
Nothing to worry about. More administrative than anything

They showed the Corbelli's in the stands last night which I thought was super cool. I don't know what the relationship between them and A&M was when they were let go.

Watching the Baylor game. Surprised that placed isn't more packed. They only had 1900 yesterday which I think is crazy for a #1 team.

Interesting tidbit. Southern Cal's coach is 2x an Aggie with a Doctorate from Oregon.

Aggies will take on Wisconsin next (they swept UCLA today).

Badgers looked surgical in their win. Would they be gettable next week?

I hope our game with the Badger ladies is accessible at least through the computer. I couldn't find it last night.

The SEC women VB's haven't done badly so far. UF, UK and we have gotten to the round of 16, Missouri and USC managed to win the first round, and only UGA lost immediately. I guess it's been a bad weekend for the Dogs all the way around.

I know nothing of Wisconsin save they are a 4th seed. They have lost 6 games, so someone has beaten them. The women seem to be able to rise to the occasion, but this would be a huge win. Then they'd have to turn around and probably play #5 Nebraska. It's a tough draw.

Only 3 host teams failed to advance: 6 seed Pittsburgh lost to Cincinnati (RPI 22), 14 seed BYU lost to Utah (RPI 18) and 15 seed Western Kentucky lost to Louisville (RPI 25). There are 5 Big 10 teams left, 3 each from the SEC and Pac-12, 2 from the Big-12, and 1 each from the ACC, American and Big West.
Something the athletic department needs to consider is that volleyball regionals are held at the campus of the top seed in each regional. If that was us, and we hope it will be in the future, there could be a conflict with graduation.

On reflection, although our next two games are potentially the combination of the two highest seeds, it is also the easiest way to get to the final four. Only the #6 seed, I believe, is gone, so anyone getting to the final four have to get past the top 4 seeds. Our path is through #4, so hopefully that's the easiest way.

I'm trying to be optimistic! This reminds of the lines in the movie "Argo". This is the best bad solution!

We held our seed which is awesome. If we advance further would be monumental for the program. The top 5 is no joke. I'm optimistic we will be competitive as we have all season.

Wisconsin wins set 1 25-20. Ags hung in most of the set, but the difference in balance between the two attacks is striking.

Set 2: 25-17 Badgers.

Wisconsin got out to a 6-1 lead, forcing a timeout. Ags fought back to get within 1 in the middle of the match but Wisconsin pulled away again.

Wisconsin is hitting .441 and their block is focusing on Hans. Rush not getting much of a chance to get going. Sometimes I think Connor needs to simplify what she's doing.

Ags take the lead in set 3 18-17 after falling behind 6-1 again.

25-23 Wisconsin sweeps. Ags fought all the way through but just too much to overcome.

Great season!!!!

Heck of a match in Austin. tu took sets 3 and 4 but now Louisville is up in the 5th. 10-5 now.

Congratulations to the lady Aggie volleyball team on their game versus Wisconsin and the excellent season. It s no disgrace losing to the Badgers at home in the round of 16. They are a very talented team, and they have obviously had a lot of tournament experience.

What a great senior season for those who finished here. Hopefully, it is the first of many good runs in the NCAA tournament.

Also wondering what our VB experts think about the impact of losing HH to graduation. I have Nebraska-Wisconsin on ESPNU as I post this. I get the impression the top teams are significantly taller than ours up front.

Losing Hans and Patterson will be tough. Will need Rush to step up and be more consistent. Davis will need to take another step up but was really solid OH as a frosh.

I think losing Gomez will be tough as well since she played some fantastic defense.
