Benn should rarely see ice in OT, yet he gets so much ice time. Love captain but he's not good anymore.

Something's up with Roope. He was laboring all night and fell to the ice a few times. Hopefully it's nothing serious.

Benn has been playing well as of late, but there's no reason he should be playing 3on3.

There's no scenario where Stankoven should be out of the lineup at all the rest of the way.

This team needs a break in the worst way. But don't look now: Colorado and Winnipeg on tap.

This team needs to get healthy, obviously, but almost bigger than anything the rest of the way, this team needs to figure out a lineup and who they want to be. I can't help but think we are a little stuck in no man's land with our lineup and the style of play right now. There just seems to be zero flow or consistency with our play recently.

Just as an example, but Jamie Benn and Joe Pavelski shouldn't really touch the ice in OT in my opinion. They are way to much of a liability as skaters and in our own zone with so much open ice. They need to lean on their youth in times such as those. I could make an argument that we need to lean on the youth more in 5v5 and see what top 6 you want to put together, because the offense just isn't clicking right now.

Roope doesn't look right either. He seems like he's lost some burst and the speed that makes him what he is.

Edit to add: I don't know if Roope is so much as hurt, or if its that his time with Robo and Pavs has run it's course. I think he needs to play with some guys who can hit the gas pedal more than Robo and especially Pavs.

The Avs are absolutely carried by one line and one d pair, however, that line and d pair likely have two of the top 5 players in the league.

Being at or near the top after February is going to be huge. This little "rut", if we're going to call it that, isn't terrible...unless it lingers.

Unfortunately the injury bug has reared its ugly head, but hopefully not too serious.

On a positive note, I think Benn and Suter are playing some of their best hockey of the year. Benn has been a bit of a liability this season, but has really stepped up lately (OT aside). And I thought Suter might have played his best game in a Stars sweater against Carolina.

If we can get healthy and make a move or two, I think we'll be in darn good shape.

Think that's all right! I just felt like it was one of those moments where "the sky was falling" but in reality we're still in a great spot. A little BAS was reflecting on our Stars' performance, which is totally understandable haha.
