I checked the draw and see that Mia and partner are seeded #1. Also that the #2 seed is Kayla Cross and partner AND they start play against Fiona Crawley and partner. Cross has had a lot of doubles success with various partners, including Liv Hovde!

Her opponent in the semis is #352 in the world with a UTR of 11.27.

I think that is her biggest win ever? She's such a force - especially on clay!

Lu looked really comfortable in the final. Only match I saw (thanks to the posted link !!). Her opponent did not. From the scores of the previous matches she was comfortable the whole tournament.

How are the incoming freshmen and transfers performing? Haven't kept up as much as I usually do

Mostly quiet as far as competition goes, which hopefully means they're in College Station getting accustomed to the coaches, courts, whoever else is on campus this summer. Neither freshman has played since the spring. I've seen rumors about new international students having a slower visa process this year, and I'm crossing my fingers that is not an issue for Tilde and Anna; but that may explain why they haven't traveled to compete.

Vi went 3-1 at an W35 in Orlando and lost in a third set tiebreaker at one in Illinois. She's currently listed as an alternate for back-to-back tournaments in London after this week.

Any idea on the latest plans for Jennifer? I saw her training a couple of weeks ago and she was hitting the ball incredibly well.

I think she would have played #4 after Lulu next year.

Also not competing lately as far as I can tell.

Maybe the sports gods will let her play an uninterrupted match someday. I lost track of start time to end time of that match.

Athletic dept and A&M agreed to cancel it. Wasn't a good deal for either.

Carson plays an amazing second set and wins 6-3! Going to the 3rd now.

Just checked the score and they have split sets. 2-6, 6-3. Third set starting now.

One of the best matches I've ever seen Carson play. Lost 7-5 in the third but was the better player for large stretches.

Lost a little bit of focus after a close call in the final game and Sakkari played a great game.

Worth noting that the umpire made a massive mistake here. Carson would have been up 40-15 in the 5-6 game in the third. She went on to lose the game / match after this.

That call pissed me off. It's common to go through the motion of a swing just in case the ball lands in. How in the heck was she supposed to just stand there just in case it was out? If the ball is out it doesn't matter if she swung of even continued the point. Go back to that call and make it correct.

Man - Carson has the potential and the game to do some damage. Very fun watching her play. And when the confidence is there on the big points she is going to be VERY tough to beat.

She's certainly holding her own against some too competition.

I really hope she plays the ATX Open next year. Seems like a perfect fit.
