So awful. I thought he looked great at the game the other night.

Stars news coming tomorrow I've been told.

What is the expectation?

New Mavs location is about the same drive for me but always loved the convenience of the TRE coming and going. If Stars do something similar probably will really limit my opportunities to go see a game live.

Rumored for a while to be moving to former Willow Bend location in Plano (off the DNT).

So are we going to end up having two new stadiums that are just 10 minute drives apart?

And a perfectly good stadium about 10 miles from the south one. Such a waste even though both would be much more convenient for me personally. That said, these areas are struggling with what to do with these mall sites, so I get how these are logical solutions. In Plano, there have been several attempts to boost Willowbend which has failed. And the Collin Creek project is floundering. So the Stars solves one. And Dallas has never figured out a decent solve for Valley View.

What's the deal with Collin creek?

When we moved from South Plano in 2020 in was just a pile of twisted rebar and rubble still.

I spent so many hours in that mall… eating at luby's, buying DBZ VHSs. Gadzooks. The little arcade.

Same. As a Plano GenXer, my formative years were spent there. The plan to redevelop it was a combo of retail, commercial, and residential. I just don't think there is the demand pull for the retail and commercial, so it has really slowed. The residential is doing ok. I think it will be pile of rubble for awhile. Now that they are looking at a similar challenge with Willowbend, the Stars are a logical solve

Yeah I knew they were going to make it some big development but I guess it's just fizzled out?

Soooo much density of shopping there.

Willow bend was always a head scratcher why it never worked. I still think because it sucks getting into and doesn't have any "entertainment" to it, originally.

I worked next door to it for almost 10 years and we'd go to the food court for lunch often. Chick fil A and a bunch of has-runs.

Putting the Stars there would definitely be something.

I think even places like legacy west are struggling now. My wife went out there for a little girls staycation a few weeks ago and said it was dead on a Friday night.

Stonebriar is bumping because of youths and the movie theatre and other items.

#1 New York, NY (2) teams Rangers & Islanders
15,340,000

#2 Los Angeles, CA (2) teams Kings & Ducks
10,609,200

#3 Chicago, IL (1) team Blackhawks
7,612,100

#4 San Francisco, CA (1) San Jose Sharks
6,012,000

#5 Dallas, TX (1) Dallas Stars
4,576,700 --> 8,340,000 total Metroplex

#6 Philadelphia, PA (1) team Flyers
4,291,700

#7 Houston, TX (0) team
4,165,000

#8 Washington, DC (1) team Capitals
4,041,300

#9 Boston, MA (1) team Bruins
3,888,800

#10 Detroit, MI (1) team Red Wings
3,859,700

And Tom Gaglardi's crew will probably settle for a shiite stadium that their players want to be close by. Tarrant County Hockey Fans be damned. If they move that far north they can take their Pantera Puck Off and shove it up their arse. Good Riddance.

As a south tarrant resident, having both teams even further away sucks. Might make it to 1 stars a game a year now. Oh well, atleast going to Rangers games has always been easy.

Selfishly, I wish the Stars would look in the area just north of the airport in Grapevine/Coppell. Seems like a great crossroads for tarrant/denton/collin folks

We will have a plethora of stadiums available for concerts and events.

They'll be competing to get promoters to choose their venue.

For a lot of tarrant county, willow bend could actually be easier to get to. 121/bush vs the mess that is 30 and downtown.

I won't be keeping my half season plan when they move.

The drive will be terrible for me trying to get up there by 7:00.

The AAC gave me multiple options. Could take I-30, I-20, or go through Alvarado and take 67 into Dallas.

Also had the option of the TRE if I didn't want to drive. I had a short drive to the TRE from my office.

Going from South of Fort Worth all the way up to North of Addison will be terrible during rush hour. Could take an hour and 30 minutes.

Leaving from work wouldn't be much better either.

I'm pretty much indifferent to the move. It will take about the same amount of time for me.

One thing I have feared from the beginning though, is seat licenses. If they pull that crap, I won't renew at the new arena.

I have no idea what you do with the AAC now. I would love for them to demolish it and build out that space with ground level retail/bars

You absolutely demolish it. That's PRIMO real estate. You don't let it sit vacant.

About 15 minutes closer to me during evening traffic.

The Northend apartments across Nowitzki Way were just torn down in favor a large high rise development.

That would be the logical conclusion for the AAC site, but the problem with that is I think the neighborhood is designed around the presence of the arena.

The whole area is called Victory Park. The name doesn't even make sense without the arena lol.

So ****ing stupid. Going to take a solid 15+ minutes longer every game for us. Might mean the end of our tickets. Just checked at 6:00 and it would take 25 minutes to aac from my door, 40 to willow bend, even without extra traffic.

Downtown you have people coming down the DNT, down 75, over from 30, plus dart routes. A few coming up souther on 45 or 35… then you have people from Fort Worth coming over on 30, 20, even 183, or TRE. Each has traffic but it really helps to have that many ways to get there.

Even after the express lane improvements, 635/75/DNT north of 635 turn into absolute parking lots at rush hour.

Now it'll all be focused on Bush, DNT, 635…

It's easy to root for Carolina even if they weren't facing Vegas.

They're just a very likable team as a group.

A lot of us felt that way in 2001 and the AAC situation turned out pretty good.

Too bad you never went to a playoff game at Reunion Arena. It was the best experience ever especially playoff games.

I might get season tickets again for the first time since 2003. Living in Mckinney, I was not willing to drive to downtown Dallas after this 6 years that I had tickets. For every fan whose commute will get worse there is one for which it will be better.

Had this done at Blake's last year. Good time to bring it out.
