No problem connecting on my AppleTV and iPhone.

Met up with a buddy the other day who operates in the Android world and he was able to connect his phone and firestick.

I was all fired up to be a Cadillac fan, but given what Max and Louis have been saying, and the problem that the Honda engine is having, its not sounding like a fun season across the grid.

AppleTV updated their interface to include a dedicated F1 content. Looks like it starts with Australia, no broadcast from this week's test.

So does this give you anything beyond what apple TV will offer?

I didn't think you could pay for f1tv in the US for live race events.

You can pay for the Access level which gets you live timing but have to wait 24hrs for replays.

I thought everything was included with Apple TV and the F1 app on Roku, Apple, etc?

I'm hoping you get the option to watch in car cameras for drivers you want..

You just can't buy the F1TV full subscription like in the past if based in the US.

I have already linked my AppleTV subscription to F1TV but can't test out all the options because they only provide the main feed for testing.

So was the past week's testing shown on Apple TV, and is it available to watch on demand now? Was waiting until Feb to subscribe, but if testing isn't available I'll just wait until March for the 1st race.

The last hour of testing and all 3 days of this weeks testing are available to watch thru the F1TV app if you connect your AppleTV subscription to that app.

It looks like, based on the AppleTV interface, the content that is viewable thru the AppleTV app starts with Australia.

The F1TV app has a big archive of races.

Forgive me for being dense and having to ask follow up questions. My F1TV subscription ended in December after the last race. I have yet to subscribe to Apple TV, but when I do subscribe, I can link Apple TV and my now expired F1TV account and get the old F1TV archive races and testing? Did you renew your F1TV subscription somehow, or is it a free account now that we cannot subscribe here in the US? Thanks for your patience and willingness to pass on your knowledge!

Yes after you purchase your AppleTV subscription and link it with F1TV, you will get full access to everything you are used to with F1TV.


Pull up the F1TV app on whatever device you use and it should prompt with some variation of "Link your AppleTV subscription". You will have to log into with your AppleID/password.

On my physical AppleTV box, a QR code was displayed that prompted me to connect via my phone (1st image)

F2 test shows that Invicta is still the car to beat, i am putting my money on Rafa Camara winning F2. Won F3 last year on his rookie year in a very dominating season. He's the current main talent in Ferrari Driver Academy so hopefully he gets a seat in 2027 or 2028, what makes it hard i think is that Ferrari only tend to place their people in Haas nowadays and don't see Ocon leaving and Ollie is probably only moving to the main team once Lewis is done.

Pecking order is gonna be really interesting if testing was any indication. Ferrari was 0.8 faster than anyone else today, but Mercedes probably hasn't shown everything yet. McLaren was a tad bit slower than Mercedes, and then Red Bull was behind them. After the big four, Alpine, Haas, and Audi might be the best of the midfield. Then you've got the Racing Bulls and Williams before a big ugly gap to Cadillac and Aston. Should be fascinating to see what things look like in a few weeks.

Anyone done Apple tv though amazon? We mostly use android devices so no apple tv app but I think it's on some of my tvs then I could use the f1 app.

I don't really get what that illustration is trying to show us. That the cars have trouble getting in and out of corners? Seems like the straight line speed is there. I hope this isn't a season of chasing the setup all year long.

I bit the bullet and paid for an Apple TV sub. It appears that the only way to sign up is to agree to $12.99/mo plan. But after it is added to your subscription list, you can convert it to a $99/year annual membership, which is 36% savings. Maybe if you sign up for the free trial you can convert directly to the annual subscription?

Netflix and Apple are cross sharing F1 content. DTS:S8 will be available on AppleTV and Netflix will show the Canadian GP live.

Both articles claim F1TV and SkySports (International) feeds will be available thru AppleTV with a multiview option.

Has Netflix figured out how to do live streaming? I recall some previous attempts ended up being a buffering mess

It has gotten a lot better. When they live streamed the guy free solo climbing the building in Taiwan, the broadcast had very little buffering from what I remember.

Now, F1 viewership may likely have much higher viewership, and therefore could cause issues. I have to assume that Netflix has automatic scaling of their virtual infrastructure in place to be able to handle the increased load on their systems. And they likely will have the environment scaled out ahead of time in anticipation of the increased demand.

The Canadian GP will still be available thru AppleTV & F1TV so it won't be an exclusive option.

Previously on F1TV there was a choice on which audio to use with the video feed: F1TV or Sky Sports. Guess we get the same options for the AppleTV stream
