I'm at work. Is anyone tuned in to ESPN News? They should be announcing the 64 teams, hosts, and all for the tournament at 4 (now).

We're the 4 seed in the upper left quadrant. SMU, North Texas and Northwestern St will be coming to College Station for rounds 1 and 2. Penn St. is the number one seed in our bracket.

4th seed in PSU's bracket, means we're basically the 16th seed overall. Yuk.

At Penn St in the Quarterfinals is exactly where we bowed out in '03. We got worked too. I was hoping for a different draw.

Wasn't it against SMU that Kati Jo got into an "altercation"?

That's crazy that the Big XII regular season and tournament champion would get what amounts to the 16th seed. I doubt that would happen in any other sport.

Since Penn St. lost to the 8th cede in the Big 10 tournament, I would think they would drop to No. 3 behind Portland and North Carolina. If that was the case, then we would be ceded 14th.

Even if they are the No. 1 cede, they are probably as or more beatable than Portland or North Carolina.

I was hoping for a 12th or better cede so we wouldn't meet a top 4 team until the quarter finals.

we are probably the 8th seed... we make it to 16's, then play the #9 for our first match... If we win, then we are down to 8 teams nationally (2 left at Penn St), where 1-vs-8 at one site, 2 -vs-7 at another site , 3-vs-6 and so on...

Don't see us dropping all the way to 16th, and think some in front of us lost last weekend...

We would play Penn State in the Round of 16, not the quarter finals. That means we are anywhere from the 12-16 seeds.

Yep, the ladies got hosed. No way they should have been a 4-seed. 2-seed would have been a stretch, but they should have at least been 3-seed, winning the big 12 regular season and the big12 tourney.

A&M didn't get jobbed. In case you haven't noticed, the Big XII isn't regarded as a very good soccer conference. Hence, the conference championship not holding much water with the committee.

east coast is where the really good teams are. NOT in our area of the country... we are one of those special programs that plays in a very weak conference for our sport.

The NCAA doesn't publish any sort of rankings. The ones posted are done by different writers and coaches associations. None affiliated with the NCAA organization.

The No. 1 seeds in each bracket follow the No. 1 - No. 4 national rankings -- Penn State, Portland, UNC and UCLA. Penn State remains as the No. 1 seed nationally, which means A&M is the No. 16 seed overall. Iheart has it right. Because of past showings against opponents outside the conference and in the NCAA tourney, the Big 12 is regarded as a weaker conference than the ACC, SEC, Big 10, Big East and WCC. We of course all thinks the Aggies are the greatest team around, and they are definitely the best in the Big 12 and the minor conferences in the Southwest region. Let's hope the team can play well and show well in the NCAA -- perhaps this will be the year the team can make a statement to the soccer gurus.

is it because UTEP and rice are the other two teams? cause they didnt have to make two other texas teams be there they coulda done two average cali teams and let cal host

California schools don't draw well...the NCAA has to make money somewhere.

And no, Sportspasses don't work for NCAA chamionships...everyone must pay to get in per NCAA rules.

perhaps its cause the ncaa has a minimum seating requirement for host sites..

You got it right AgSoccer. It is much cheaper for the NCAA to fly Cal to Texas than to fly three Texas teams to Cal. It's a raw deal for cal but that is just how it works for all sports except the profitable ones...Basketball, Football, Baseball (maybe)

Usually you get a cheap ticket with a student ID from any of the competing schools.
