Bowing out early last year at home probably did not help our seeding this year either. Like someone said earlier, the NCAA does not have an official ranking system but the four main ranking sources have us at 10, 13, 13, and 18. Winning the weak Big XII does not mean that much to the NCAA either. An overall 16 seed paired up with the 1 seed is very appropriate. This will give the girls a great chance to prove themselves.

Edit: Also remember that all 3 losses and both ties came against unranked opponents. Just trying to show that we didn't really get hosed as bad as some of you are saying.

let's hope Bucknell upsets Penn St. just like they upset Kansas in the NCAA tourney last March.

In addition you don't get a stamp for this weekend's game(s) so probably only the true fans will show up

We should have been seeded higher, but even if we were a 7-10 national seed we would still have to go through Portland, Penn State or North Carolina. Did we get ripped by having to meet them in the sweet 16? Probably, but I feel Penn State might be one of the more beatable teams (based on limited soccer knowledge) out of three, and when I look at our 2 and 3 seed in our side of teh draw, they do not look like they are any better than we are. I am not that disappointed with the draw and would much rather play PSU on the road than North Carolina.

There is no question the NCAA screwed A&M here. We are consistently underrated by them, it's very frustrating. There is no way that Connecticut is a better team than us. Cal State Fullerton a #3 seed? What a joke.

The argument of having a good showing in past NCAA tourneys has some merit, but when you consider we reached the Elite 8 twice in the last 5 years (meaning we won some games on the road to get there), the committee is not rewarding us for those efforts at all. You would think that they would want the host school to make it to the Final Four for monetary purposes, but they gave us a brutal stretch of @Penn State and @Santa Clara to advance all the way home. It's do-able, but highly unlikely we will make it through those two games unscathed.

Based on our record we did get hosed AGAIN... however, historically we have underacheived not only as a team, but as a conference. I believe A&M and Nebraska are the only teams from the Big 12 to reach the elite eight. Even when we did, we did so only by forcing a quality UCLA team into PK's by not taking a shot the whole match.

This being said, I do think that A&M has a good shot of breaking through this year. I've been following soccer pretty close for the last 4 years and this team is peaking at the right time. last year we we declined at the end of the regular season and were depending on losses of other teams to clench big 12 titles, not taking our destiny into our own hands.

This senior class has leadership and the ability to know what needs to be done. The end of the season has also shown that we don't lose intensity when we sub like so often has happened in the past. In fact, most times it UPS the intensity on the field.

It will be tough to knock off the overall number 1 seed in the tourney but I can't think of more motivation than coming home to play in the final four. And until we start proving our national prowess our conference will continue to not get any respect.

actually... you do get a stamp for games this weekend.

And yes, we got hosed. It's 11:58pm and the NCAA still sucks! What a joke...

They also aren't helping the Ags get there, which would create the biggest event that college soccer has ever had... the Aggies in the Final Four at HOME... oh well, it's not my money.

We haven't ever before since this is an NCAA event, I don't know why they'd change it...

Dallas2003, why should the NCAA "help the Aggies get there" (to the Final Four)? Do you realize how much you would be complaining if some other school hosted and the NCAA gave them a cakewalk into the Final Four! Have a little faith -- our team will either earn their way to the Final Four -- or we shouldn't be there!

they let us last year in softball and i believe for the NIT. They realize how much money they can make if they allow A&M to continue stamping.
