One of the big problems with him just leaving her or taking her to the airport is that (from what I have read), the van belonged to her. If he just left her, he did so in her van.

Also, that is (again, from what I have read) why the investigators could take the van off his parents' property....it isn't his.

He should have flown back to Florida alone and left the van...

That's what is making me think he killed her.

drop her off at the San Diego airport with as little words spoken as possible, and go about the rest of my long weekend carefree and joyfully. Never speak to her ever again. And not tell a dang soul about it until I'm talking with you people on the internet about 5 years after the aforementioned incident.
I got dumped in San Diego years ago (not for being crazy). He did not do me the favor of taking me to the airport early. I had the pleasure of staying in his one bedroom apartment for the next few days. He did take me to the Safari Park after he broke up with me...so, there is that.

Maybe he never told anyone what happened. Maybe his coworkers thought I went missing.

Pretty white girls going missing is a national tragedy
I knew a middle aged white guy who disappeared something like 15 or so years ago. Nobody really cared all that much about that, though. I don't even remember his name.

In his case, they found his body after a few months alongside a river in British Columbia (if I remember correctly) and attributed his death to suicide.

About a month before he disappeared, he asked me how to wipe a hard drive so that it could not be read. He was getting a divorce and wanted to wipe something off that he didn't want his wife to use against him as leverage.

Were they linked to the double murder of newlyweds!? Or just a coincidence!?

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/gabby-petito-update-missing-found-b1920743.html

Quote:

Gabby Petito and her fianc were reportedly arguing and hitting each other, according to a police report from Utah. The couple, who were on a road trip in Ms Petito's van, were spotted having an argument in Moab City, Utah on 12 August.

The argument took place outside the Moonflower Co-op, the workplace of Kylen Schulte, who was murdered along with her wife, Crystal Turner, two days after Ms Petito and Mr Laundrie fought.

Utah police said they would not rule anything out in their investigation, but have not indicated the cases are connected.

Anyone think it's possible they had an argument, she got out and he took off and in the meantime she naively got in the car with either a rapist/six trafficker/serial killer who just happened to be passing by and saw a perfect victim and crime of opportunity?

He's taken an interesting approach by not saying anything and lawyering up immediately. If they don't find a body and if they don't find any evidence of what happened, making a case against him is an odd challenge even though all logic says he's guilty AF.

Everything he says can and will be used against him in a court of law, even if he is innocent.

Relationship seems toxic, but damn it's ice cold to leave your childhood sweetheart and fiance, drive home alone across the country, completely lawyer up and shut your mouth for weeks and counting, not even talking to the police or her family.

If that happened to our daughters, we'd have gathered a posse and headed over to the boys place a long time ago.

This is their one and only Youtube video uploaded just 4 weeks ago, a week before Gabby disappeared.

They look like your normal, engaged couple in love. Damn.

Is this plausible? Yes.
Does it explain his complete silence? No.

He's definitely guilty, and eventually the whole story will get out... And when it does, all of America will say, "She had it coming."

Occams razor. She is dead and he did it. I would love to be wrong but I think it is the most likely answer.

Let's look at the options

A. He killed her, ditched her body somewhere and drove home

B. She's playing gone girl and trying to get him convicted

C. They amicably split ways and she is having some mental breakdown in god knows where

D. She took off and he left, she got lost and is probably dead
you may all go to hell and i will go to Texas

His actions back A. Maybe B, if he is just as crazy. His actions would be a disaster with C or D especially if she turns up dead.

Pretty certain he killed her, but after watching that bodycam footage I'm thinking "slightly mitigating circumstances".

As far as the options (A-D) go, B, C and D make no sense at all because any person placed in those situations would not just drive back to Florida. He would have called his parents and/or her parents to clue them in on the difficult situation. I was speaking to one other person about this case, and one other option emerged. When I mentioned that they set out on this venture to become internet stars with the videos etc., the idea was raised that this is a set up to gain fame. People these days do crazy things, and I hope this "option" is not the case - those poor parents are going through hell.

It's a fascinating case to say the least, especially with the boyfriend not talking; basically leaves the cops to a dead end unless some breaking info come through

My sources tell me she killed that other couple. They were scoping out her man, and she got pissed and offed them. She told her fiance and they had a big argument, but he chose to forgive her. Some time later, though, he accidentally tracked some mud into the car and she told him she was going to the cops and was going to tell them he killed the other couple. That's when he knifed her.

I really hope she's alive, but I also hope this isn't a publicity stunt. I just cannot imagine that anyone could put their family through this intentionally. I feel awful for her parents and pray they get some sort of closure soon. Not knowing must be absolute torture.

i find it very unsettling how many people want to compel this guy to talk or are excoriating him for exercising his constitutional right to not talk to police.

Lots of purportedly patriotic Americans don't actually fully comprehend or respect American Constitutional rights or values.

I don't blame him for not saying anything and lawyering up. It WILL be used against him. The flip side is, in the court of public opinion, it makes him appear like he's hiding something and "guilty" of whatever her fate is.

It's got absolutely nothing to do with patriotism or respecting rights. And values have nothing to do with it either.

He absolutely has a right not to incriminate himself. But if he didn't do anything to her and they parted company somewhere with her still healthy and alive he should (in a perfect world) have nothing to fear from prosecution. Of course the world or prosecution isn't fair or perfect.

Haven't seen anyone who is saying he shouldn't have a right to not talk, just people saying he's a POS for not being remotely interested in trying to help find the woman he supposedly loved.

I think he did it and I think he's smart to not talk, in terms of saving his own hide. I also think he's a POS who deserves hell if he did do it and is able to stomach what is happening right now so he can continue living a life that he took away from her. If he didn't do it, it makes even less sense to not talk barring some truly extreme circumstances that in my opinion are highly unlikely.
