We are always around the week of Thanksgiving + or - a few days depending on the weather forecast.

We go cut our tree down the morning after thanksgiving and do all the decorating that weekend. I hate that thanksgiving is a week late this year.

My wife got an early start and the whole house is decorated for Christmas now. I might have grumped about this years ago, but she really loves the whole Christmas season, and seeing her happy makes me happy. We can enjoy Thanksgiving with Christmas decorations. Its all good!

My experience is the people who put up Christmas stuff before Thanksgiving celebrate Christmas as a secular holiday instead of a religious one.

I ordered my tree from Poland, and I'll probably put it up when it gets here next week.

Our Christmas lights were put up yesterday but we'll unplug them until Thanksgiving or the day after.

Tree doesn't go up before Thanksgiving.

Tree has been up for well over 365+ days. Every time I try taking it down, my wife and little girls get very angry. It's easier to leave them up and keep the peace.

Yes, we have two trees still up. One in the front room, where anyone going by the house can see it. The other is in the living room, where garland is on the fireplace and bar. Yup, my house is Christmas year-round. I've given in; it's less stuff to take up/down to the attic.

I have always been a firm Christmas after Thanksgiving guy, but when my little girls (twins) look at me with their sad blue eyes, I can't say no. So, it's Christmas decorations year round my house! Plus the Hallmark movies my wife and daughters watch, it never ends.

Same here. We put them out based on the lawn guy's schedule, so we have the yard lights but won't be turned on until after Thanksgiving.

We do have permanent trimlights (which are REALLY COOL) that we use year round with many color combinations...yellow/orange for Thanksgiving, many combinations of R/W/G for Christmas, R/W/B for July 4, etc.

Our neighbor has had R/W/B in a running pattern since election day.

I think day after Halloween is absurd.

however I think Thanksgiving is too late.

My reasoning is my wife goes so damn all out that my trip to the storage to get all the stuff, and help her set trees up and all that is too much damn work for only 4 weeks. I think mid november is perfect. 6 weeks.

Some neighborhoods in Dallas have it written into the HOA that you will decorate for Christmas. I think it's the Lake Highlands area and some parts of Plano and Frisco, maybe others. (I might be outdated or wrong on the areas, this is word of mouth info from friends who used to live in one of these kinds of neighborhoods.) When you sell your house, you leave the garage full of lights and decorations for the next family to inherit and use. Those are the neighborhoods where there's bumper to bumper traffic in December from people looking at Christmas lights.

Not saying that's the case for this particular poster. But in those circumstances, I can see why you'd want a storage unit.

not specifically for that. but I have a unit and thats where i keep all the stuff. pretty normal activity.

Ours trees went up November 3. Lights put on the house November 6. We're having company during Thanksgiving, and we have other commitments on the weekends between now and Thanksgiving. We have a turkey inflatable in the yard and the dining room table is decorated for Thanksgiving.

Edit: But let me add she is a freaking Saint. One of the best people that have walked this Earth, wants for nothing, ultra low maintenance, and constantly giving of herself for the kids, me, and friends. So the least I can do. Definitely first world problems.
