Disclaimer, I am a Luby's fan

Honestly, I thought they had gone out of business. Last I remember hearing was Pappas was selling off all the locations. I drove by one yesterday at 12:30, and the line was almost out the door. I looked up their website, and there are still about 20 locations in Texas.

I guess there is still a market for standing in line for square fish

I always liked when work would send me to Bandera because I could get my Lubys fix at the one in Helotes on the way back. I miss the one in San Marcos.

I always thought a good marketing deal / cost cutting and saving method for Luby's would be to offer an all you can eat option after 7:00 pm. The amount of food you get would be limited to a single serving at one time, plus you must get in line to get it. Also, no additional food would be prepared.

The one in Beaumont is still open. They're about to start widening I-10 there, though, and the construction may put the hurt on their business.

Serious nostalgia for the Luby's in Beaumont. All four of my grandparents *loved* that place. I can remember going once with my maternal grandparents, sitting down, and there were my paternal grandparents, eating their lunch two tables over.

There's a Luby's in Addison that rebranded itself a little. Big fancy sign saying "Luby's Kitchen" tryi g to fit into the vibe of the area. Still wouldn't go inside though.

Ate there some when I was a kid. My dad was a cafeteria fan. Made me one, too.

I always ate at the BCS Luby's after day games when I had season tickets. It was usually busy but not crowded like other places.

Always enjoyed Luby's. Still remember my first visit to the one in Beaumont......only location I know of that when you ordered rice, they asked "you want gravy on it?"
