As for my 2 cents:
Would it be possible to let the moderators go, and let the site moderate itself?
What I mean is this:
The site has the vote functionality in place. We (the users) simply vote if we find a post (or reply) inappropriate. If it gets x number of votes, the post (or reply) is automatically removed, and the poster is banned for x amount of time. Now, I know that some users will be malicious, and try to get people banned, etc...But, you could combat this by allowing the banned user to protest a said ban. And if that ban is found to be unfair, the users that voted get a penalty (assuming that they were trying to be malicious)
This way, you get rid of the subjective vote of one user, and have a more democratic approach.
I am just tired, like everyone else, of seeing certain things get moderated, and others not. For example, it seems like pictures of bikinis and scantily clad women are off limits, but making racist comments (whether joking or not) is allowed. For me personally, racism is much more offensive than a beautiful bikini model.
