I think one could argue that Breaking Bad is better than the Wire. It's certainly not above argument.

Sure you could argue it, but it'd fall on deaf ears with me. I enjoy the subtlety of the Wire over the in your face type stuff that BB does. It's personal preference.

Was the waiter from the restaurant the "flare" guy from office space? If so, GENIUS.

I could never get into The Wre. It was definitely good, but never captured my attention like Breaking Bad. I stopped midway through Season 2. But hopefully this thread doesn't turn into a pissing match about which show is better.

I loved the Hank twist and the ending. I don't think it is a stretch by any means. I think we're leading up to a seriously intense 4th episode next week. My guess is Walt calls the cleaners after some crazy ish goes down over the next two episodes. I think people are going to start dying. And fast.

The Todd connection and the Czechs are going to be HUGE in the final few I think. It's unfortunate te Chile connection with Gus doesn't seem to be coming into play this season. I think that is a story line they should have gone down, but just don't think there is enough time. There is just so much left with Lydia too and I can't wait to see where they go with it.

Such an incredible show. Can't wait for next week!!

Maybe I am reading into it too much, but we didn't see the toilet finish flushing after he wiped the blood off his boot. Kind of out there, but maybe the bloody paper towel gets discovered, somehow linking Todd and Co. (Who are stupid enough to be driving around with a tank of methyl amine) to the murder in the desert.

Definitely don't know what they were gong for with the diner scene at the beginning.

I don't think Jesse painted Heisenberg on the wall. Why would he paint the wall right before he plans on burning the house down?

In the flash-forwards, I don't remember the house showing any fire damage inside or out.

I think Walt gets there just in time, and tries to kill Jesse, but he gets away.

I don't think so. That guy is 39 now. The guy tonight didn't look that old.

more than anything, the bloody napkin not going down the toilet, the waitress possibly or probably hearing the conversation or at least confirming some shady people talking about shady stuff, and the possibility of Todd and them getting caught is laying the groundwork that Walter's plan to blackmail Hank is only temporary(which we aleady know due to flash-forwards...but at least we now see how it could be exposed). Other holes in the operation exist, and they will be exposed regardless. So he now has a Jessie problem, and he'll likely have another problem where one or both will force him to go on the run. That scene was not placed there for no reason.

IMO it is just foreshadowing how sloppy Todd and his crew are being with it, and they will get caught/flip to try and put as much on Walter as possible, which Hank will eat up. Walt at that point will likely be gone after what happens with Jessie, or he'll leave if he catches wind of what happens.

Let's leave that BS Wire discussion in another thread.

As some of you mentioned- let's all revisit End Times again

Well obviously.

IMO Todd and Lydia are going to get wrapped up in this **** storm that's about to take place.
I'm curious as to what problems Todd will come across.

That's what I meant.

After having watched the entire episode, that whole scene with Todd and his Uncle seems incredibly irrelevant. Didn't come into play at all during the rest of the episode.

This episode was about the chess pieces align to trap Walt.

Walt threatens to frame Hank. Rook to D7, Check.

Walt convinces Jessie (only witness) to leave for Alaska. Bishop to B5, Checkmate?

Instead, Jessie puts it all together and wants revenge, perhaps bad enough to go to Hank.

Additionally, now Todd's family (who has been told how great Todd and Walt work together, but not how Todd killed a child) is coming to Albuquerque to get Walt to help cook (If Todd was going to be the cook, they could have stayed in Arizona).

All three parties (Hank, Jessie, and Todd's family) are coming for Walt.

They could have cooked meth anywhere. They're coming to NM for Walt, as foreshadowed by the phone call.

At first viewing I thought maybe Walt had placed something in Jesse's jacket during the long hug - or lifted something. Couldn't Jesse have thought the same thing - Hewell or Walt?

Great confession and almost too obvious for most of us not to come up with - of course he was Hank's cook!

I saw the TP not going down the toilet and wondered the same exact thing. The waitress also seemed a bit suspicious of them. I wonder if she plays into this at all? Can't wait for next Sunday night!

A napkin with a practically unnoticeable amount of blood on it, especially after it's soaked in toilet water for a while, clogging up a toilet will not spark anyone's curiosity.

The point of the bloody napkin was to show how casually they killed a group of people and thought nothing of it later.

I think Todd's family knowing about the heist will give them something to offer up when they get arrested for something later. I don't know if this is it or not, but that conversation will definitely matter.

Hopefully tonight has convinced some of you that no plotline is ever closed on this show.

I'm not convinced they're coming for Walt. Maybe they're just going to NM because that's where the power vacuum is.

I wonder where Hank was rushing off to that he wouldn't be able to make his 3pm meeting?

I also found the discussion between Todd's family in the bathroom rather telling. They chastise people who are overly careful and cautious - people afraid of second-hand smoke and kids wearing bike helmets. Combined with their carefree discussion of the heist in the booth, we can probably expect them to throw caution to the wind regarding their new business venture as well.

They are a NM gang with NM roots and NM connections. No doubt their power, and labor, rests in NM. NM is home for them. Should they undertake the most complicated, dangerous, and lucrative job they've ever done away from home?

My read as well.

As for the episode, Jesse and Walt in the desert with the hug rates among my favorite scenes in the series. And as for the cig reveal, I loved it. Literally had to pause the show just to appreciate it. It didn't feel thin to me at all. Two pennies on it, anyway.
