Definitely a little bit of "pressed for time" style writing, but the episode was still very enjoyable...I just don't care for the cliffhangers.

Even if Hank and Gomie aren't hit you have to think the Nazis have way more ammo than the two of them. Let Hank and Gomie expend their weapons, then the Nazis will have them over a barrel. Ransom situation perhaps?

i have been just a little disappointed so far but tonight's ending actually irritated me which sucks with only a handful of eps left of what to this point was a fantastic show.

Ransom for what though? I know the nazi's want better meth, but you've fired upon two DEA agents that have seen your faces -- there is no "deal" that gives you a pass on that.

At this point I have to assume Hank and Gomez don't die (or they would have in that episode), and it wouldn't make any sense for the nazi's to let them live under any circumstances -- so the only logical jump I can make is that Walt and Jessie somehow get rid of the nazi's... but I can't for the life of me think of how.

Just seems a little too convienent. This muscle that works for a lawyer that knows to keep his mouth shut about everything gets shown one cell phone picture and spills his guts without lawyering up (even if the lawyer isn't Saul)?

Oh yea of little faith! I still believe the writers will give us three of the best damn episodes we have seen so far. They haven't come this far just to f it up!

Hank and Gomez are goners. The question is what happens w Jessie. I just don't think they had enough time to resolve all that this episode, hence the "cliffhanger"

The first half of the last season was so excellent. But many forget that the writing, acting, dialogue was kind of sloppy the first 2-3 seasons of the show as well. It was carried by Cranston while others gained their stride like Paul and Norris, and the show introduced outstanding villains and supporting characters.

When you end any great series, it is always tough. However, I think the writers, with this much time to work on this last batch of episodes, just tried to take on too much. There have been some sloppy situations this summer. However, if Hank or Gomey survive that's pretty brutal. Both should already be dead, and I agree that going through Huell, while it was able to get us to the desert scene, was a bit weak as well. Muscle for a sliemball lawyer would NEVER say a word.

Agreed.

Agreed. As a whole this was one of the greatest TV series ever, but it certainly had some rough patches early on that people forget.

i hope so, if hank and gomie live through that my bs meter might explode. not sure how they ended the episode alive when the gun fight began with them standing in the open and working their way to the suburban for cover. first time a bb episode ended with a giant eye roll from me.

Looks like Jesse was slowly trying to sneak out of the car. Jesse gets away. I think Todd and Peeps were going to shoot anyway no mater what to get Walt to cook.

Now they have blood on their hands and want Walt to cook even though the original hit was for Jesse..

I think the next episode will give us a good idea where this all goes.

If Hank and Gomez are goners, don't you think it would have been done at the end of tonight's episode?

When Hank was on the phone you had that "Hank get the eff out of there" thought going through your head. When the two cars rolled up I was on the edge of my seat. When they had their guns pulled on each other, even moreso...

If they wait until next week to show Hank and Gomez get capped, then that's gonna take a lot of the intensity out of it.

I think they live, I just don't know how.

The whole time I was thinking, worst first half of an episode ever...then best second half of an episode ever....then worst ending to an episode ever (I mean the fact that they shot about 1000 rounds and nobody got hit, and then cut away)

While I like both of their characters, if they showed Hank and Gomez getting offed there, I would have considered that episode epic.

As it stands? Meh.

I think that when the shooting stops, ie hank and Gomez are dead, Jessie realizes that and bolts the car. Hard to end an episode right there IMO, so they're gonna start there next wk.

I just don't see any reasonable way that they make it out alive. They have no cars, likely no more ammo, completely outgunned, and a situation where the Nazis have no choice but to kill them. The only way they make it out alive is if there is some sort of deus ex machina. And where would Jesse go? There is no way they leave him behind. He has no car and would be on foot. My thinking is he gets picked up by the Nazis pretty quickly after the shootout.

God I hope so!

So maybe they take Jessie and threaten to kill him if Walt doesn't cook.

What if hank gets to Walt and uses him as a shield?

I think it's a given that Jesse is used as some sort of ransom. And I think the Nazis would rather kill Hank and Walt than allow a DEA agent to get away who would be able to identify them.

Hank is a central character to this story. I think trying to find a "proper" way to portray his death is a thin line. Having him die between episodes is much more poetic.

We haven't really seen a major character die on screen (save Gus, but he was a true villain.)

that would have been a much better ending in my opinion.

Isn't the search team on their way out there? Maybe the calvary rides to the rescue.

What search team? Gomie and Hank are operating without the knowledge from others in the department.
