in the preview for the next episode it shows hanks wife asking walter to tell her the truth? Do you think Skylar told her?

^^^JMO, but I don't think Skylar told Hank's wife about Walt's drug dealing. She probably finds out that the money for Hank's rehab was coming from Skylar/Walt via a bill or something.

Previews are misleading 99% of the time. I don't bother anymore.

Except for the Arrested Development previews. You could always count on those to be solid.

Marie knows that Walt/Skylar are paying for the rehab and thinks it's from Walt's gambling winnings. IIRC, Hanks believes his insurance is covering it.

I think it's possible Marie starts to connect the dots, maybe even before Hank. She's not distracted by Mike and his 11 guys. She's paying closer attention to Walt and his erratic behavior.

Between the car accident near the laundry/meth lab, the "gambling" money, and the fact that Walt wouldn't join the family on lockdown while a gang war was unfolding, there's plenty there to make Marie get suspicious.

Did you see the look on Hank's face when his boss was talking about Gus being right under his nose and he did not see it?

Great episode, Mike is a G. He seems like one of those characters that started out with a minor, supplemental role but did such a good job growing into his character that he became a pivotal part of the story (sort of like Jesse but even less integral from the get-go).

Anyone notice how much purple is in Marie's house/wardrobe?? It's everywhere, and it's a good way to exhibit her quirky personality. I've had the idea that Marie's the one whose nosiness and paranoia ends up exposing Walt. Doubt it will be next episode, but I bet eventually she spells the end for him.

loved the opening scene of the guy testing the sauces. Looking back on it, IMO he realizes this is his last meal

Does anybody know if the defibrillator would've worked that way? What was the significance of putting the cord in his mouth?

AED's won't fire unless they detect someone in vtach, but that's a cool way to throw in the towel

Since they are out in the open and available to the average schmo, they have to be average schmo-resistant. If the AED doesn't read v-tach or other shockable rhythm, it won't fire. That way, you don't get panicky Suzy try and fry the passed out 5hit faced janitor in the warehouse.

The wire in the mouth was just added show.

Automated external defibrillators (AEDs) are lightweight, battery-operated, portable devices that are easy to use. Sticky pads with sensors (called electrodes) are attached to the chest of the person who is having sudden cardiac arrest (SCA).

The electrodes send information about the person's heart rhythm to a computer in the AED. The computer analyzes the heart rhythm to find out whether an electric shock is needed. If a shock is needed, the AED uses voice prompts to tell you when to give the shock, and the electrodes deliver it.

It will fire on v-fib as well as v-tach. It also won't let you shock over and over and over.

i kept expecting the episode to end with Skylar saying "i'm pregnant."

Then they'd have the added layer of it possibly being Ted's kid.

Please, please, please don't let this happen...

Yes, you can be picky and say Gus would never have written down the banking info there but it has to be written down somewhere.

I like how they got us to that point (fixing one problem with the laptop creates another), but a guy that meticulous that encrypts everything on his laptop does not write down exact bank account and routing info on the back of a picture that might get taken into evidence.

I like the direction it took us, just wish they would have found a better way to get us there.

One plot-line that BB has left dangling with seemingly no purpose is Marie's cleptomania. The writers even brought it back for 1 episode a few seasons ago for what seemed like no reason at all. My guess is that it will rear its ugly head again, and this time it may involve Marie swiping an incriminating piece of evidence from Walt's house. She may not even know what it is that she stole, but Hank will.

Mike is a cold blooded assassin. He would have killed Lydia despite her pathetic pleas about her daughter. He forced that situation just to gain leverage over her.

She felt she was removed from the situation and could just order the hits on 11 people and walk away. Putting her at gunpoint with the possibility of her daughter hating her made the situation very real for her and forced her to help him. The question is how long she will stay loyal whenever Madrigal starts conducting internal audits to cooperate with the DEA and Mike doesn't have a gun to her face.

He was forced to do it because his people were bankrupt and possibly going to flip on him to the cops.

So any surprises on the list of 11?

Got me to wondering

I disagree. To much time has been dedicated to the relationship between Mike and his granddaughter for it not to have had an impact on his decision there. His face also told the story of personal anguish in the thought of letting her daughter think she was abandoned. Mike isn't capable of acting as good as the actor playing him is.

Gus may have left the routing numbers on the back of the picture with the intention of it getting found. He was too confident to think he would ever get caught by the police, so the only way his operation would fall is if he was dead. And if he is dead, he doesn't really care about protecting the people who may have betrayed him and caused his death.

Funny thing about the bank account numbers: The cops maybe wouldn't have found that if not for the "magnet". Irony is that Hank said the computer was of no use anyway, so the magnet backfired big-time.

Backfired in the way that usually whatever Walt tries falls apart.

However, magnet -> routing numbers -> hungry hungry hippos -> seizing Mike's money -> Mike needs cash -> be cool b/tch and get me some methlamine. No magnet, Mike sticks to hungry, hungry hippos.

Wrong. Without Gus' organization penny-less, Walter cant get the operation up and running like it was.

Im pretty sure no matter how encrypted it was, they could get the date. I thought he said it was useless since it was totaled.

And really, as I think someone was trying to say, the magnet led to Mike needing money, so in reality, it helped Walt. Of course it lead to Chao and Chris dying.

Oh really? His stick-up charade had Jesse pretty fooled in Shotgun.

That said, I think you're partially right. I think Mike showed up fully intending to kill Lydia. But then it became clear she was going to make him do it messily with the little girl having to find the body. That at least made him hesitate.

Add that to the fact he's broke. The 10 remaining guys might not be so solid now that they're broke too. And killing Lydia would nix any chance of regaining the $2mil he'd intended for his granddaughter.

Plus, what better time to get a scared-as-hell Lydia to agree to resume operations than when you've got a gun to her face? She sure as heck wasn't going to agree to that in the earlier scene at the diner.

One scene from the last episode that hasn't been discussed, is Walt placing the actual ricin from the cigarette behind a power socket in his house. With the emphasis on breakfast at the White residence, it leaves one to wonder...

Finding the cigarette in the vacuum cleaner confused me - was Jesse crying because he was on to Walt? And he now knows Walt is completely devious and self serving? And Mike also pointed it out to Jesse later at the table?
Is Jesse catching on?
