I understand that, but how did the DEA even know to tail that lawyer? And then have the warrant ready to serve in the bank?

Isn't that the same lawyer that stupidly fronted Mike as his paralegal?

If so, you'll definitely get busted doing that crap.

Crazier things have happened, I'm sure, when Feds are on the inside. Maybe not to the extent of killing an innocent kid, but you never know. A crazy theory, I know, but a theory nonetheless.

Not sure how they got the warrant so fast, but Hank asked Gomez if the bank records on the 9 were still okay. Gomez said that the 9 weren't living beyond their means. Then Hank connected that the lawyer did not represent Mike and asked Gomez to tail him.

Mid season 2 maybe, I remember that Badger got caught by the cops. Saul said they could go the cheap route with a prison shank or the expensive route with hiring the guy to take the fall. Of course, Jesse didn't want his friend shanked. I feel like we are probably going to go back to option A in this next episode.

And in fictional scenarios, I tend to root for greatness. I want to see the main character be better than everyone else. I want to see him out think his way out of every corner. Despite Don Draper being a philanderer, I root for him to land the next big account. I rooted for Gus Fring despite him being a bad, bad man. I root for Walt to get the next big score or worm his way out of the next scenario. The only way I want to see him fail is if he gets beat by someone superior, a la Gus, or destroys himself.

The most intriguing part of this episode was the weakness Walt showed on the riverbank after the shooting. It's the first time we've seen doubt from him since before freign's death. I think he realized in that moment everything mike said was true and he does still need the help of others like mike. I wonder if he'll start to get overwhelmed.

I had hoped for a big mike vs hank scene, but I was happy with the way things ended.

I don't see Todd being a cop, but I could see him flipping on Walt and trying to steal the cook and sell it to the distributer for more money.

Lots of great suspense in this episode.

I could see everything falling apart as quick as next week, (Or maybe 2-4 episodes into next summer) and then the rest of next summer picking up with Walt turning 52 and almost serving as a sort of extended epilogue.... It just seems like the DEA should be able to solve everything really fast now that the legacy costs are exposed.

The logical choice was to have Todd fill in. But I'm not trusting him one bit. I think there was a theory many pages back that put Todd on the inside and I'm starting to believe that as well

I think him killing a kid kinda puts that theory out to pasture.

Maybe it's not the cops that planted him. Maybe it's someone interested in Walt's formula. Todd seems awfully eager to gain Walt's trust and learn everything he can about cooking.

Again, Saul was correct. That was some crappy money laundering by the other atty.

Saul better live.

Did it look like Walt left the bug in the picture frame laying on Hank's desk to anyone else?

I thought he put it on the desk when he put the back on the frame then got the transmitter off the PC.

Hank knew there was no way a crew was so airtight that all 9 guys would rather do time than talk. So Hank knew someone was paying them. When he saw all 9 guys were represented by the same lawyer, he thought the lawyer might be facilitating payments and told Gomez to tail the lawyer.

I wasn't sure if there was a warrant or if they just followed the lawyer to the bank and then walked into the vault to find him stuffing cash in the boxes. But I guess something was set up in advance because the bank clerk was acting funny. In that case, they must've followed the lawyer to/from the bank before and found out he was accessing 10 boxes. They just didn't show all of that background work.

We all know what's coming.

It's all slowly coming to a head and the only question is how Walt will die. Will it be the cancer? Will it be Hank? Will it be Skylar? Walt, Jr? Jesse???

I vote for HIMSELF. I think he'll kill himself.

Wasn't that the cold open to the very first episode?

It is also the first time he's killed someone for reasons other than protection. Mike wasn't a threat. Walt knew it. But Mike insulted Walt's ego and therefor faced Walt's wrath.

Walt's descent is now complete. He has completely Broken Bad.

He killed him because he wouldnt give him the list and he made Walt angry by insulting him and telling him he should've stayed in his place.

I thought the far greater moment in the episode was Mike at the park. I really did not know if Mike was going to run and abandon his niece, or actually realize that is not the way he wants to be remembered and just letting the police take him in (possibly in a fashion where the girl didn't know her uncle was getting arrested).

I thought this was the best scene in the episode, too.

Interesting interpretation above about what Mike was thinking when the cops showed up to the park. I interpreted it slightly differently, though. Mike's niece was the only thing that mattered to him. When it came down to it, getting taken in by the police and not abandoning his niece at the park, Mike chose to make a run for it. In a way, Mike "broke bad" this episode as well (despite dying at the end). JMO.

I also thought it was powerful in the scenes where Skylar and Jesse walked out on Walt, to let him be by himself. quite a transformation.

Wasn't arguing but adding that he didn't give his list and explaining how he hurt his ego. Don't be so sensitive. I may just cap you for hurting my feelings.

I'm still sad Mike is gone. Damn, he was awesome.

You could see where the episode was heading but it still hurt to see Mike die. Especially the way he did. And, as mentioned earlier, Walt has completely broke bad. He is now killing based off emotion instead of business.

Great episode. Great show.

Be careful. That kind of carelessness will get you killed around here.

Another good episode. I thought they could have used Mike some more, but you had to figure he was going to go out sometime, just like (most of) everyone else.

The new distributor angle will should prove to be big (Capt Obvious here reporting). Walt will either conflict with them next season, or it will blow up past that group with some bigger fish out there.

Anyhow, I expect Hank on the "good guys" end, and the new "bad guys" angle to all be closing in on him in part 2 of this last season.

It is just me, or am I the only one who can't help but get the end of Scarface out of my mind here as a strong analogy? The creator has said so himself before, Walt was watching it before with his kids, but how close will it all be at the end? I picture something like a crazy bloodbath / gunfight at the end, just as Hank closes in on him, and finds Walt dead in a pool of other bodies, blood, money and drugs, and he pieces it all together right there.

Walt gives this big speech to Jessie about how no one else has to die because they are in charge and can run things right. Next thing he does is go and kill Mike out of emotion. Walt is creating so many loose ends right now that any one of them could end up hurting him. It will be interesting to see which one does.

Small details - but did anyone notice how filthy Walt's car was in the last scene driving up to meet Mike?

How does the owner of a carwash have a dirty car? It just seems like if he doesn't take care of it, that is a detail that Hank will pick up on.

The dirt up there in Albuquerque on the off roads is pretty fine. The second you hit the shoulder you're caked in that s***.

My final scene predicition is it is going to be very similar to the end of Enemy of the State. I think the new guys are part of a Cartel network. It's going to be Cartel (new guys Walt is in bed with) vs. Walt vs Hank. When the gunfire is over Hank is the only one still standing.
