I researched it. Lydia's facts regarding the Cezech Republic and method use are spot on. I love the detail BB continues to display

Best quote about last night's show that I've seen- "There's no problem that taking a good dump can't solve"

Things that have to happen in the last 8 episodes:

1. Hank vs Walt showdown.
Admitting to everyone that Heisneberg paid for his rehab and is a close family member will be embarrassing & could cost him his career. But refusing to bust Walt equals admitting defeat to his one true foe and his tone true obsession.
PREDICTION: Hank decides to take Walt down. Walt kills Hank in the process along with other DEA agents.

2. Jesse vs Walt showdown.
Jesse will have to find out at some point about Walt letting Jane die, poisoning Brock, murdering Mike & manipulating him in general from day 1.
PREDICTION: Walt will admit to all of it during an egotistical rant about how awesome he is. Jesse will not respond kindly, and Walt will somehow end up killing Jesse.

3. Walt vs Gus' relatives showdown.
The entire Mexican cartel was scared of Gus' connections. There was a reason for that, and Walt will have to find out the hard way why.
PREDICITON: Who knows, but I think Walt survives.

4. Declan and the Czech connections will want their meth (assuming Walt has really quit). But it's very possible that he hasn't really quit.
PREDICTION: I don't really have one since I don't even know where this is going.

5. Walt kill's a family member.
The show is about a good man becoming a bad man. Murdering a family member (specifically your child) is the worst thing a person can do.
PREDICTION: Walt kills Skyler during a fight. Holly or Jr get caught up in all of this somehow, and at least one dies. Walt may even kill Jr when he threatens to go the cops after finding out who his dad really is.

6. Walt dies from cancer.
Walt dies alone with no money, not power, no family, no friends, and no respect. In other words, he would've just been better off dying from cancer instead of ever getting involved in meth in the first place.

How did the book make it to the guest bathroom? The last time we saw it, it was on the nightstand.

Christ, taint, that's an all out shiit show you just described right there. I think Hank will ask for an apology, Walt will take a while to give him one due to his ego, and then the last few episodes will be centered around breakfast. The family will even have breakfast for dinner. The cartel, Declan, and the Czechs will leave Walt alone. This show will have a happy ending. I can feel it.

Refresh my memory. Wasn't the book part of GB's things that Hank had as evidence in the murder?

Or what did Hank read to Walt in his bedroom when Walt offered that it was Walt Whitman that GB was talking about?

And finally, where did Walt get the book? It was a gift from Gayle? I remember him picking it up a few episodes back, but can't remember it's origin.

I think Walt was doing a little reading/plotting while on his throne.

Just watched: fun fact...if you watch the episode in closed captioning it shows the dialogue that is inaudible. Ex. The lawyer talking to his wife on the prison pay phone right before getting shanked. Pretty cool.

Edit: pay phone...not cell phone. Sad thing is, he was asking his wife to tell the kids he loves them...

Hank had GB's lab notebook which had a bunch of sketches and his notes about cooking meth. Gale had written his little dedication to W.W. in that notebook.

I hope, somehow, we find out more about Gus's past...after it showed the flashback with Don Eladio it really intrigued me.

Best use of music in any episode to date. Just brilliant.

Hank sounds like he's tired of police work. What if he becomes Walts muscle.

Not a chance. He was tired of "chasing monsters," he no longer has to chase and detect, just build a case.

And outside of the ATM wizards Mr and Mrs Skank, and Wendy, they haven't really shown the effects of the meth biz. Guess there was Tucker TUCKER TUCKER!!! as well. Be interesting if it did finally hit home.

I'm thinking next weeks big event is going to be a huge elaborate plan to have all 9 men killed close enough to the same time that the DEA won't have any time to react and save any of them, leaving them with thier dicks in the dirt and Walt on his throne with no worries. Until the second half of the season.

Somebody help me out here.

I keep reading on this thread about references to Gus's Chilean connection and the possibility of them playing a part later on.

What episode was this mentioned in? Especially the part about the cartel guys being too scared to kill Gus. I don't remember that at all. I may need to go back an catch up but I'd like to know where to start.

The flashback episode to when Gus was younger and the cartel killed his (not gay...lol) partner in front of him. Don told him he was lucky because of "who he was" or something to that affect.

Not sure if it was said, but Hank is only suspicious of Walt now because of that book. Seems to be a popular line of Whitman's from that book of poems. Maybe he left it out in the open because it is not from Gale. You never see him give Walt the book. We make that connection because of the flashback Hank had on the can.

Maybe Gretchen Schwartz's maiden name is Black. Walter White (WW)+Gretchen Black (GB)=Gray Matter. The writing appeared to be somewhat faded, and that may be why it was carelessly left out. Walter would not be dumb enough to leave anything from Gale around. Right?

Schwartz is German for black. No need to complicate things.
