But what if they hid a GPS tracker in one (or all) of the barrels?

They know wrought to skim a few bundles, but to do something that stupid. Plus, I don't think BB would pull a punch like that.

To me, the look meant they COULD have skimmed, but did not.

Saul is being too honest in all of this. He is up to something.

The "evidence" Hank has (Leaves of Grass) which links it all together was taken from Walt's house without a search warrant. Hank knows it would all get tossed and he doesn't have enough to take Walt down which is why he pressed Sky to give a recorded statement. However, she would have spousal immunity in the end anyway.

So while it appears Hank has pieced it all together, he really hasn't. My guess is Walt / Sky / Saul will piece all of this together once the dust settles and they will pressure (blackmail) Hank by reminding him that drug money paid for his rehab, thus potentially exposing him and ratcheting up the pressure even more.

Of course they took some money. That look they gave each other was like they both shot a load at the same time. I would take some money.

As far as a tracker in the barrels I doubt there is one. I think the lottery ticket is the only thing the writers are going to use to link the location.

Walt made sure they got their cut, he said so before he jumped in the van. I think they are significantly scared enough not to steal from Heisenberg.

Why would they be now? They all know the DEA possbily knows ands is about to come after Walt. Also, Walt does not konw exactly how much was in that storage locker. Walt is on the run. He needs Saul now more than evet.

Even with the volume cranked way up, I couldn't hear/understand the bathroom scene dialogue between Walt and Skyler. Here it is for those that had similar issues:

quote:
Skyler: Hey.
Walt: How long was I out?
Skyler: Four or five hours. How are you feeling? Is it true? The cancer's back? Is this it?
Walt: Does that make you happy?
Skyler: I can't remember the last time I was happy.
Walt: Just tell me. I know you talked with Hank. I know you made a deal. Skyler, I'll make this easy. I'll give myself up if you promise me one thing. You keep the money. Never speak of it. Never give it up. You pass it on to our children, give them everything. Will you do that? Please? Please don't let me have done all this for nothing.
Skyler: How did Hank find out? Did -- did somebody talk?
Walt: No, Nobody talked. It was me. I screwed up.
Skyler: The way Hank talks...he's got his suspicions. Not much else. You can't give yourself up without giving up the money. That's the way this works, Walt. So maybe our best move here is to stay quiet.

Hank has no proof of anything. But he's inferred the rest (successfully I may add). And yes, he takes it personally.

Everything that's happened since Walk joined that ride-along with Hank can legitimately be blamed on Walt, at least indirectly, whether Hank has put it together yet or not. And much of was a slap in the face to Hank.

1. Emilio & Krazy 8 were killed directly by Walt.

2. No-doze was beaten to death because of Walt's meth.

3. Gonzo was killed while trying to dispose of No-Doze. Without Walt's meth, Gonzo wouldn't have been in that situation.

4. Walt had that call placed to Hank's phone about Marie's accident, causing him much emotional distress. That led to him beating up Jesse, which led to him losing his job, which led to him being unarmed when the twins attacked.

5. Hank tracked Jesse to Tuco's place in the desert where he killed Tuco. That led directly to the twins trying to kill Hank.

6. Hank's killing of Tuco led to his promotion to El Paso. That led to the Tortuga explosion, which coupled w/ the Tuco incident, screwed up Hank's brain.

7. Combo was killed selling drugs.

8. The twins killed 9 illegal aliens & the driver of the truck, the old lady for her wheel chair van, the deputy who discovered them, and a couple of innocent bystanders during the attack on Hank.

9. Tomas, the boy who killed Combo and was then killed by the gang-bangers.

10. The 2 gang-bangers who killed Tomas.

11. Gale & Victor

12. Victor.

13. Tio Salamanca, Gus, & Tyrus.

14. Walt also blew up a nursing home in the process.

15. Gus' henchmen during the coup.

16. All of Gus' guys who were assassinated in prison or otherwise.

17. The kid in the desert with the scorpion.

18. Mike.

Hank has already figured out Walt was probably involved with a lot of these things, but hasn't put 2 & 2 together on all of them. However, he has the info to figure all of these out in time.

Also, we cannot even begin to calculate the number of lives his meth has ruined throughout southwest USA and the Czech Republic.

This doesn't even include all the stuff Hank can't possibly know about such as Walt letting Jane die and how it led to the airplane crash that killed 167 people and caused millions of dollars worth of damage.

His presence also led to the war between Gus and the cartel which resulted in probably a few dozen deaths on both sides. Without Walt, that never would've happened.

With that said, there are also a lot of things that would affect Hank personally throughout all of this:

1. That walk-a-thon that Hank begged his coworkers to contribute to? It was total b.s.
2. Crashing the car into traffic to avoid seeing the laundry facility.
3. Interfering with the bust using Badger.
4. Informing for Gus to sabotage Hank's investigation.
5. Causing Hank's mental breakdown.
6. Causing Hank to go on forced leave from work after attacking Jesse.
7. The bogus phone call about Marie's accident.
8. Getting Hank attacked by trained assassins.
9. Causing Hank and their entire extended family to be put under protection from the cartel.
10. Putting everyone's lives in danger.
11. Lying, conning, and manipulating those he's supposed to love most at every turn.

I can't imagine why Hank might be a little bit upset.

But he does not know that Walt was directly involved in all of that. He knows he is a meth cook. He knows that and only that. Seems he is a bit off the cliff now and it does not make total sense to me. Again, he has know the guy a long time. He knows he has cancer. You would think he would find out more before he went ballas out on Walt based solely on a hand drawn picture.

He knows "Heisenberg" was involved in a lot of that. He knows Heisenberg was the one who killed Gus Fring and was directly involved in Fring's entire operation. He knows Heisenberg is why Gale died. He knows Heisenberg & Captain Cook/Jesse are connected because Jesse is connected to the blue meth. He knows Krazy 8 & Emilio's deaths were connected to Jesse. He tracked Jesse to Tuco and Tio, so he knows all of that is connected, at least indirectly, to Heisenberg. He's figured out that the twins came after him because of him killing Tuco, which again is indirectly connected to Heisenberg. There may be a few things he hasn't quite put together yet, and the other things mentioned in my previous post would take a little more connecting of the dots, but the connections are there.

He just never knew who Heisenberg was...until now.

Can he prove any of it? No. Are a lot of these connections just theories at this time...possibly. But the information is there for him to decipher.

I don't think up this point Saul has done anything dishonest.

I've been surprised how "upstanding" he is in carrying out illegal activity.

Now ... he may see the end of the road and is willing to do whatever to get traveling cash.

He may send everyone on a trip to Belize ...

Saul wouldn't have planted gps trackers to steal the $ from Walt, he did it because he's a forward thinker: if Walt gets killed, the money rots in the desert. This way Saul can get it - tout suite.

Hank has really no evidence on Walt without the money. Even if Jessie talks, which he might to get rid of Walt or because of guilt, will not be enough. Jessie is a known addict and is in trouble for having the $$$$. No direct evidence and Walt is no longer cooking. At some point does Hank decide his only option is to send Walt to Belize?

Next, can they rebuild a proper meth lab without Walt? Probably not. So at some point they come for Walt to make him do it. The only way they to make him do it would be to kidnap his family. This may explain the machine gun in Walt's future.

Would a GPS tracker even work in a closed plastic barrel under wads of money, buried underground?
Also, was I the only one that was annoyed by Lydia getting cell coverage underground in an RV?

It's actually possible if there are openings especially metal ones like the metal vents going down.

Barrels were plastic and Walt was knocking them over when he tossed then into the pit presumably allowing a tracker to be facing upright at least some point. All you would have to do is go to the last location pinged to find the barrels

He may have not actually even known how much he had to start out with. I doubt he sat in there and actually counted it.

he never knew how much he had. When Skyler brought him there he asked how much is it and she said "i have no idea. I stopped counting so long ago. It was too much."

So yeah, he knows its a ****in ****load, and that's about it.

What Bunk Moreland said.

What's cool about that scene is that you can interpret it either way. Did they take it and think "phew!", or did they not take it and now wish they had? We probably won't know and it doesn't really matter to the story, but still cool to think about.
