Besides the train robbery, this season has been a lot of blue balls. I'm ready for stuff to happen!

I thought Walt was going to somehow kill Mike when they were in the office overnight. But Mike conveniently had to go somewhere and only tied Walt up with a single zip tie.

I wonder if Skyler convinced him to sell his interest. I could see that also being a reason he is trying to prove his "empire" to her, to show her what he could have been without her influence.

Or maybe he sold in order to keep his affair a secret from skyler.

based on the way the Elliot pitied Walt in season 1, I'm guessing Walt was with Gretchen, then Elliot and Gretchen had an affair. Walt's pride led him to walk out on the company.

Go ahead and burn me for saying this....the show was better when walt had the dichotomy of good and evil in him.....its still good now...but it was better when his conscience made him find creative ways around the wrong thing to do.

If I had to guess, at least one of the following will be dead before the end of this season:

Mike
Hank
Jesse
Sklyer

that **** is sic yo!

I don't think the spider is a trophy. It could be but it would be too big of and a leap for me to believe that Walter Meth King comes across a serial killer.

Plus, Todd has the same hair and skin as Dexter and that makes it too cheesy. The writers are leading us in that direction.

Walt telling Marcie that Skyler had an affair may be Walter White's undoing. Skler didn't seem too afraid of him at the dinner table. She is pissed and getting sick of his ****.

I think the spider in the jar represents Skyler. She is trapped but the glass jar is fragile and won't last long. Todd represents how reckless Walt really is. Why would Walt let a 23 (or so) year old into his empire?

Skyler walks off with a bold attitude dumping more wine in her glass. She is just getting started and knows that it's all about Walt's ego now. She's going to figure out a way to bring him down taking advantage of his massive ego.

Walt - "She told me that she is counting the days until my cancer comes back. My wife is waiting for me to die."

I don't think she is going to wait.

I agree with this. It would also explain why Walt wasn't taking Elliot's money no matter what.

Two things.

I think red-head from Friday Nights is just a weird dude who liked the spider in a jar. Nothing more

Also, that face walt is making at the end, with the gun pressed against his temple. Bryan Cranston is the man

I think it is a pretty obvious intent to show that not ALL the evidence was destroyed by Walt and crew. They took the time to dispose of the body and the bike and leave no trace of the kid, but Todd had hidden the only remaining evidence in his jacket.

America's destiny is not of our own choosing. We did not seek nor did we provoke an assault on our freedom and our way of life. We did not expect nor did we invite a confrontation with evil. Yet the true measure of a people's strength is how they rise to master that moment when it does arrive.

I hadn't thought about Walt being with Gretchen first and then Eliot stealing her from Walt, but makes sense. Walt responded like a wounded puppy by selling his share and running away. From that point on, he was a beaten man, a wuss. Skyler (the control freak) was looking for a weak, wimpy man that she could walk all over and Walter latched on to the first woman that would give him the time of day. So the Walter/Skyler relationship makes perfect sense.

Walt's hated everything about himself since that day he cut and ran from Gray Matter. No wonder he wouldn't accept Eliot's pity. No wonder he has an inferiority complex. No wonder he now wants to flex his muscle every chance he gets. It's not about money; it's about proving to himself that he's not a wuss.

I understand his motivation better now, but I do not sympathize with him.

On the flashback when Walt & Skylar first purchase the house, Walt seemed pretty cocksure of himself and was stil working at the lab.

We also know he met Skylar at a local cafe close to the lab where she worked.

the transition from lab> > GM> > high school is where I get lost and would love the backstory.

To add to the brilliance of the show, apparently Walt was whistling "Lily of the Valley," by Queen, when Jesse was leaving and gave him the weird stare. Lyrics below.

quote:
Baby you've been had

I am forever searching high and low
But why does everybody tell me no
Neptune of the seas an answer for me please
The lily of the valley doesn't know

I lie and wait with open eyes
I carry on thru' stormy skies
I follow ev'ry course my kingdom for a horse
But each time I grow old
Serpent of the Nile relieve me for a while
And cast me from your spell and let me go

Messenger from seven seas has flown
To tell the king of Rhye he's lost his throne
Wars will never cease
Is there time enough for peace?
The lily of the valley doesn't know

The episode with Walt & Gretchen's confrontation is 206, and Gretchen mentioned something about Walt disappearing when they were at her parent's house. (description on Wikipedia)

quote:
Walt left her and his research behind suddenly and without explanation after Gretchen took him to her parents' home for the weekend

And here's what Sepinwall had to say about that episode:

quote:
He has a history of walking away from situations because of some slight -- real or perceived -- and then making himself into the victim, and nobody close to him has any idea just how much anger he's holding in, and how he's letting that anger guide his every decision. He walked away from his relationship with Gretchen -- and the fortune that might have come from his work. And now he's decided that, rather than accept Gretchen and Elliott's charity -- which he could have easily viewed as payment for services rendered at the start of their careers -- he'll continue down this insane, dangerous path cooking crystal meth.

Jesse realizes Walt is basically becoming a psycopath and that he's the time bomb that Mike said he was at the beginning of this season. He didn't put 2+2 together on Lily of the Valley though, or there would have been a confrontation. I think just the happy-go-lucky whistling after the troubling conversation about the dead kid was another item that went into the file folder with several other troubling signs Jesse has seen from Walt this season. This was the last one and finally led him to try and walk away.

As Mike said during the time bomb conversation, "I don't know why you can't see it, kid." The kid is finally seeing it.

This. Don't know why people kept bringing up the whole "Jesse finding out about Brock's poisoning" storyline between seasons.

Only way I see that happening is if it somehow later serves Walts purpose in his planning to go to top, and building his empire.

agree. I see the humming as only serving to Jesse that Walt is completely nuts.

The tune of the hum is an easter egg find, that is all.

I don't see Walt being brought down by anyone but Skyler. Walt is so confident that Skler is afraid and incapable of devising an intelligent plan. She is the only person that he will overlook.

She has shown what she is capable of and we still don't know what she told Marcie. At the dinner table, it seemed that Skyler was amused that Walt thinks he is such a big shot yet his partner is Jessie; who in that scene appeared to be an idiot.

It's been a longtime but I thought Walt's partners at Grey Matter screwed him over after he developed whatever it was that made the Business successful. I just don't remember it being about relationships.

At the dinner table, I think Skler was laughing at Walt for being partners with Jessie. She was realizing that Walter has weaknesses that she can take advantage of. What kind oif drug lord would have that idiot at the dinner table as a partner? Again, Walt is blinded by his ego.

Skyler devising a plan much more grand than Walter believes she could be capable of.

Skyler is the worst character in the history of television. Every time that square jawed amazonian beeotch comes on screen I want to walk out of the room. She almost single handedly ruins the show for me. I hope she dies soon. Very soon
