i'd just gotten to my hotel last week and turned the TV on for some noise and stopped at hope floats for whatever reason while i was unpacking - happened to look up during the scene where the dad leaves. f that dude.

Maybe not a well known movie, but the scene near the end of The Greatest Game Ever Played where Ouimet looks down and sees his dad in the crowd next to him after winning the tournament. Father/Son stuff always gets me.
