Agree with some of the movies already mentioned. I have to add at the end of The Dark Knight Rises....nearly the whole ending had me tearing up. When it seems that Batman sacrificed himself and Alfred crying. Tears me up every time.

The scene (with no lines) after Carver leaves the group home and enters his car. The way that he adjusts his rearview mirror, and then proceeds to go silently berserk on his steering wheel.

Doctor Who Season 5: The episode where they help Vincent van Gogh. The end of the episode when they bring him to the present and show him how people feel about his work today versus when he actually painted. Very great acting and very moving scene.

Nonreg- is that the "everyone leaves me" scene? Damn that one snuck up on me...

That scene got me too.

The whole scene in Cast Away where he goes home and sees his wife. From the time his cab rolls up to the time he makes her go back in the house after she runs to him through the rain screaming his name, kills me every time.

Some of the early season Simpsons episodes pack a pretty emotional punch.

The one already mentioned, Lisa's Substitute, Lisa's Wedding (the very end), Mother Simpson, I Love Lisa.

Pixar movies always have great emotion, but never saw that coming in Up.

The Wonder Years is almost unfair to mention here, but one episode stands out:
The one where Coach Cutlip is playing Santa at the mall.

1) Someone already mentioned it, but in The Patriot where Mel Gibson is asking his daughter to speak to him (she had never spoken to him but speaks to her siblings).

He finally turns around to get on his horse and she chases after him screaming "Daddy, don't go, I'll say anything you want, please don't go".

It gets me EVERY SINGLE TIME, especially now that I have a daughter

2) Turner and Hooch when I was a kid and the dog gets shot and you think for a second the dog dies. I was probably 8 or 9 and lost it.

I couldn't make it through Up. The little old man reminded me so much of my grandfather who had passed away about six months before I saw it that I had to shut it off because right after the funeral, I started crying and couldn't stop for about 20 minutes.

And like others, Toy Story 3. I think I was in 5th grade when the first one came out.

The movie called My Life, with Michael Keaton. In the movie as a kid he always wanted to go to the circus, but his dad would make promises of taking him, but always breaking that promise. Later on in life Keaton is diagnosed with cancer and is scheduled to die, while his wife is pregnant with their first child. He gets his wish in seeing his son born, and his family eventually visits him in California. As a present the father brings the circus to Keaton's back yard, Keaton is watching the circus while holding his son, and whispers in his sons ear, don't ever forget this. I am getting teary eyed just typing this.

The ones that jump out at me from this thread:

Toy Story 3 - From the time they all accept that they are about to be destroyed through the end is rough.

HP 8 - Entire Snape flashback with Lily is tough

Fresh Prince - Will asking why his dad doesn't love him...wow.

Yes the realization that Snapes patronus is the same as Lilly's gets me every time

funeral scene in "Steel Magnolias"

There's a scene right after Shelby dies that the mom goes to get Shelby's son

He runs out of the house an giggles. Completely unaware that his mom has passed.

Before that when Shelby passes out and her husband comes home and the kid is frantic to tell him that Shelby is on the floor

That movie is rough.

+1,000,000....good grief. Now that I have a difficult, sometimes frustrating job and 3 girls, reading that episode synopsis has me near tears.
