Officially threw in the towel after Ahsoka and haven't seen any SW content since with the exception of Andor. Didn't plan on seeing this any time soon but after a rewatch of the trailer I don't see how I can pass. Have to bribe my son when he's home from A&M with dinner if he'll go with me.

Not sorry. Can't pass on "I only hunt Imperial war criminals", Hutts, stormtroopers, and Imperial hardware. Also, Sigourney has been one of my favorite actresses since Ghostbusters (don't think I saw Alien until just before seeing Aliens). The true pioneer of women in the hero role.

Hit my threshold on Grogu by the end of Mando S1. I can grit the cutesy stuff out for an overall good/fun movie. Hope it delivers.

Also, Pascal is just so dry in this role. Would be awesome if Favreau did what Taika did with Thor in Ragnarok and actually give him some personality.

I think there still needs to be some major character development to suddenly have some charismatic humor. Raised since a child in a fundamentalist clan of warriors, after losing parents in a war conflict. That is some pretty deep rooted personality shaping.

I started watching Maul last night. The animated shows are just so much better than the live action stuff. Some of it is the creative freedom to create aliens. Some of it is the ability to ignore physics. Some is the creative freedom to create different ships. But in the end it's just a better job of storytelling.

I watched episodes 3 and 4 last night Really cool show. I think they learned a lesson from Andor that non-Force users can be really interesting and good at their jobs with the cop & the robot.

Pretty fun first clip of Mando & Grogu, shades of Yondu and Rocket trying to get Baby Groot to get Yondu's comb in GOTG2.

I can't recommend the last 2 chapters of Darth Maul - Shadow Lord - that dropped Monday on D+ enough. The first one has 2 really phenomenal action scenes, one in a battle between overwhelming stormtroopers vs. Maul-dalorians and his Dathomiri brothers, and the other between Maul and 2 Inquisitors.

The second episode has Maul suffering a series of cathartic moments about his past as he tries to escape capture. Included in this is animation from an old "Tales" comic that showed his original taking and training by Sidious and the abuse he took at his hands while training to be a Sith. There's also a bunch of other flashbacks including Maul's POV when Obi-Wan bisects him in TPM


But the best part of all might be the absolutely insane deep-cut reference that is Episode 8's title "The Creeping Fear". 20+ years about, the guy who ran Ain't It Cool News posted some big scoop about "The Creeping Fear" being the title of Episode III, and wouldn't back down from that crazy claim for anything until the day the first trailer for Revenge of the Sith actually came out. Here's the original post from back in 2004 on his website. What a crazy Easter Egg for 2026.

In watching Maul, the animation has just blown me away with the texture on his face. It finally hit on me that the coloring on him and the buildings and background looks very Van Gogh/Impressionistic.

They have done an amazing job with the artwork.

The special effects weren’t finished, the music is NOT John Williams, and all in all it gives off a very different much darker vibe.
