Well that is one man's opinion. While I won't call Jedi a comedy, he does have a good point about Ewoks.

The original film (literal film strip) is kept somewhere. I watched a thing about it years and years ago

Well that's just wrong seeing as most people who love the prequels are in fact millennials.
Exhibit A right here.
Millennials don’t hate the prequels. Most of us were kids. The dudes you saw complaining about them were Gen X. There’s a lot of ironic and unironic affection for the prequels

Was that the droid you were looking for?

It's a second hand droid she got from Peli

The badness of the sequels and the goodness of the animation made the prequels look way better in hindsight.
Andor and Rogue one are better than pretty much everything except IV and V.

Looks like it might have a bad motivator.

Correct all around.
But it's also true that most millennials did not hate the prequels, most of that came from Gen X. (And maybe the elder millennials, which I'm guessing is what TC is.)
I was a junior in high school in 2005, and I vividly remember how excited everyone was for ROTS. And not just the nerds like me, but even the "cool kids" were into it.

This is probably accurate, millenials would probably split at the middle point of ages.

Elder millennial. Episode 1 came out when I was in high school. I read the Episode 1 novelization before the movie came out and realized we were in trouble.
Still saw it on opening day.

Assuming you fall into the 1980 - 1985 range you would be a "Geriatric Millennial" like me

Gen X here. My dad had to convince me to see Star Wars in June 1977. It became the greatest thing I had ever seen. The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi augmented that opinion - those three movies as well as Raiders of the Lost Ark and Alien were my favorites by the end of 1983. I spent the next 16 years finishing both high school and A&M and starting my career as a software engineer- but thoughts about what a fourth Star Wars movie might be like were fairly consistently in my mind.
I believe this is a part of the problem with the prequel trilogy. It simply could never meet the expectation of fans built over nearly two decades. I never thought TPM was as good as the OT, but I nevertheless found a lot of enjoyment in the movie. As for the prequel trilogy, I rank Revenge of the Sith just ahead of Return of the Jedi, with The Phantom Menace next. Attack of the Clones is the worst of that trilogy. But note that I don't hate any of those movies like I do the sequel trilogy.
I am not one of those Gen Xers that hate the prequels.
