I forgot about season two of Loki on October 6. While it doesn't fit the "political thriller" theme of the next year or so, the first season was one of the few Disney+ highlights, so I'm definitely excited for it as well (even if the Jonathan Majors of it all ultimately ends up going no where).

I don't know a ton about Doctor Doom personally, but if Fantastic Four really is supposed to be the next big thing for Marvel, with an A-list cast (or close to it), then making Doom the next big villain makes sense. Especially since there's more "brand recognition" there.

He could be a really cool character if they decided to not go with the standard Hollywood "Reed Richard's jealous rival" trope that they have basically made every iteration of him so far. His comic backstory is way more interesting than they have ever made him in cinema.


The key to me is to make him bigger from F4 from the get go. Have him as the next Spider-Man villain or something similar. Then definitely don't have him as the villain for F4, except maybe for an end credits tie in.

I agree on no Doom in FF #1. I think you need to slow-play him and Magneto. And probably Apocalypse.

They had such ridiculous luck avoiding bad press or bad movies for years. That luck is finally turning around.

I used to always know the next marvel movie coming out that I was looking forward to. Now my mind just draws a blank.

I think you're in the minority there. He was pretty well-received for the most part. And he's been a recurring character since ~1929 so they probably had some hopes for him.

One of my favorite Black Panther storylines was Wakanda vs Atlantis vs Latveria (Dr Doom) vs Genosha (Magneto). A war of kings. We kinda got a glimpse of that in Wakanda Forever but there's plenty of good stuff left to do with Namor, in theory.

I'm sure in the comics he is great, but that whole movie just did nothing for me, couldn't wait for it to be over. He just came off as a whining baby with little wings on his ankles.

I liked Namor, but not his motivation. Like, is he a straight villain in the comics? Cuz he's very drastic attitude was pretty dumb. Even villains understand a little gray area, don't they?

I thought Namor and that actor were the best part of Wakanda Forever. He took over every scene he was in.

Very surprising to me that someone doesn't want to see more of that character
