The below is such a great point. More than anything about those first few years of the MCU, I remember being so stoked for certain characters to finally meet and interact. Yes, it helped that we knew it was all eventually leading to Thanos, and that the movies felt more connected in general than they do now. But man, I just remember being on the edge of my seat thinking, for instance, how is Tony going to react to so-and-so? Or what will be the thing that finally gets these characters on the same page?
Now? There is absolutely none of that. Forget the overall aimlessness of the plots of phases four and five, there is ZERO anticipation of characters that we care about individually finally meeting each other, teaming up, clashing, etc. Hopefully that changes with the introductions of the Fantastic Four, Blade, etc, and heck, even Deadpool. Just anything that injects some new life into the franchise and ignites that spark of seeing/anticipating characters all eventually interacting...
