Been wondering why The Eternals even exists. It's almost like they only made the movie to make a Clark Kent joke.
I've never seen one second of Eternals. I've also never finished Black Widow nor watched any of Moon Knight. I love Marvel stuff, but some of it I just can't get excited about (TWSS)

Black Widow is def worth watching for the bickering sister dynamic between ScarJo and Pugh

Eternals and Moon Knight are crap and you're not missing anything. I'm not even sure Marvel will ever mention them again at this point

The story itself just kinda direction less, but Oscar Isaac does a phenomenal job with the role(s) and it's worth watching just for his performance on its own.

Re: The Eternals, apparently that giant robot/celestial thing that emerged from the ocean plays a relatively big part in the plot of either Captain America: Brave New World or Thunderbolts or both. It's basically an island now and has some kind of mineral/resource people are after, rumored to possibly even be adamantium. But what the celestial thing is and how it came to be is nothing you can't read about online. No need to watch that entire boring movie for that one plot point. Hell, I watched the movie and I can't even remember the details.

I liked Moon Knight but I kinda felt like I do with Loki.. "This is fun, but what the **** is going on?"

I also actually really enjoyed The Eternals, but I actually forgot about it and when the question was asked about "why it exists" and how it fits in... I got nothing.

I need a fresh Ms. Minutes video to explain more to me.

Eternals jumped the shark with the Celestials IMO. If you have beings at such a large scale with such power then it makes everything else meaningless.

You can't possibly incorporate beings like that and maintain any realistic scale with everything else. They are fine as artifacts (see GOTG) or legends but keep them that way.

I almost turned off Eternals on an air plane it was so boring.

Moon Knight has some highs but but man the finale is a hot mess.

The first act was kind of cool, they sort of reveal these characters living among us in London then creatures that shouldn't be there start appearing in the middle of the city and there was a nice action sequence or two.

But from there, yeah, I just didn't find myself caring what happened to anyone.

I've watched the pilot of Moon Knight and enjoyed it because of Isaac but haven't gone back yet. I plan to finish it.

Moon Knight was kinda all over the place, but it's worth the watch just for Oscar Issac and Ethan Hawke. They were both phenomenal.

Moon Knight was really good until the finale, when Disney decided that just having giant monsters fighting each other was a good way to end a mostly psychological series.

not to mention the introduction to the movie is probably the most harrowing/shocking/depressing introduction to any Marvel movie (maybe even Infinity War)

I remember Infinity War well, but have absolutely no memory of the opening of Black Widow. I only recall certain scenes. Guess I'll have to rewatch some time, probably soon since A&M football has sucked away all the joy I find in watching it.

There's some crap that goes down at the beginning but the most memorable part is the opening credits which is essentially a metaphor for child sex trafficking and the black widows….

I've watched probably the first half of Black Widow. Just one of those things where you had to do something else and then it keeps falling down the list of things that I want to watch when I have time.

RDJ for secret war?

There was a window where I thought this Shine dude might be credible, but he's since proven to be a phony, and people are finally ignoring him more and more. I would do the same. RDJ might very well return at some point, but this guy has zero inside info as to when.

Love this.

I don't want Tony back. He left the MCU in a perfect way. They all did when credits rolled on Endgame.

I feel like if they just keep bringing these old characters back it just tells us that they are relying on nostalgia and not good storytelling. All tension will be sucked out of all the future movies bc when a hero is in a tough situation it'll just be "who cares if they die, they'll just bring them back". The Flash relied on this and that wasn't a good movie

This. The only one I wouldn't mind seeing again, in a cameo or whatever, is old Steve Rogers, seeing as he's presumably still alive. But bringing back Tony or Natasha would just feel so incredibly cheap. Tony, especially, had one of the best cinematic superhero arcs/deaths ever, and anything more would taint that.

RDJ coming back, if true, this early does not bode well for the future of the MCU.

RDJ is the guy you bring back 10-15 years after endgame, payoff for the now parents who grew up with the OG MCU and can tell their kids all about what it was like when iron man was the star at the theatre.

Not now. Not this close to him leaving in a perfect swan song and saving the universe. If he's back this early, MCU is panicking.

Eternals and Moon Knight came out when there were still plenty of people giving MCU a pass for "letting it breathe" after Endgame. In hindsight, those were two of the most throwaway properties in the whole thing. I thought Moon Knight's ancient whatever would tie in to Kamala's ancient whatever, but I think it's pretty clear now that won't happen. Or if it does happen, it won't matter that much.

I get why they thought it would be good to give things a break wrt a new big bad after Endgame, but I think they really missed the mark not setting up the new big bad with the Dr Strange or Spiderman movie.

I know that Boseman dying probably hit their plans hard, and Majors having his legal issues hurt too. But damn, it took way too long to get to the next existential crisis. And I'm still not fully convinced we've gotten there, because I don't think they've done a good job showing how Kang/He Who Remains is on the Thanos level.
YouBet
How long do you want to ignore this user?

The Kang angle is lame as hell to me, frankly. Wondering if his legal woes may actually be a blessing in disguise for MCU. They need to get out of the multi-verse mess.

Finally watched across the spider-verse today. Really great movie

Ending was tense. Didn't love the cliffhanger though
