Deadpool & Wolverine hits theaters on July 26.
Comic-Con is July 25-28.
Pre-Covid, the big Hall H panels were always that Saturday afternoon.
This year, Marvel needs to go all out that weekend, with Deadpool & Wolverine setting up/teasing the new direction to come, and then that same Saturday they need to bring back the Hall H panel and officially announce their 2026 & 2027 slate (seeing as we already know what 2025 has in store).
Especially with DC likely not doing Comic-Con this year (Gunn says he'll still be shooting Superman), Marvel could own that weekend in the biggest way, and really get fans excited about the brand again...
- Show the first footage of Captain America: New World Order.
- Show the first footage of Thunderbolts.
- Bring out of the Fantastic Four cast (they start shooting late summer).
- Bring out Mahershala Ali to announce the official start of Blade (said to start shooting later this year).
- Bring out the Daredevil cast to talk Reborn.
- And then bring out everyone else involved with everything else to come over 2026 & 2027 (Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, etc).
... all while Deadpool & Wolverine is cleaning up at the box office that weekend.
It just feels like the perfect opportunity to put so much speculation to rest, bury things like an Eternals sequels (by omission), finally solidify the upcoming slate, with both Covid and the strikes now fully in the rearview, and really set a new tone going forward.
Would be so fun.
