So if Marvel announced they were re-releasing all 21 of the infinity saga films (excluding the two spidey films), how many would you pay watch in the theater?

I think I'm at 9

Probably 0. We already did a full rewatch end to end in our media room. I'm good.

Iron Man
Cap: First Avenger
The Avengers
Winter Soldier
GoTG
Ant-Man
Civil War
Doc Strange
Ragnarok
Black Panther
Infinity War
Captain Marvel
Endgame

13 for me. In their original runs I didn't get to see the Avengers because my kids had just come home from the NICU and didn't see Dr. Strange because I had been in a car accident, so those would be great on the big screen.

Not even 1 milisecond of James Franco in there.

I would watch Logan in theaters again. Went in to that without having even seen a trailer or really any thing at all related to the movie and was completely blown away. I know it isn't MCU, but still.

If the Entertainment Board had to go see Black Panther or Captain Marvel on the big screen, 70% of them would just kill themselves.

All 3 Captain America movies
Infinity War/Endgame
Thor Ragnarok
Guardians Vol 1
Iron Man (did not see theatrically)

Seems a bit excessive. It's not like they have to watch The Last Jedi or Rise of Skywalker

Still one of the best superhero movies ever.

I'd probably be up for seeing all of the run up to Endgame.

Captain Marvel was the only one I didn't see in theaters.

Thread derail, non-Marvel movies.

Last night TNT had Infinity War on. I was only able to catch the beginning, but I forgot how great that movie is.

I was telling my wife during the Wanda/Vision sequence after the train passes by, you see the figure standing in the dark, the initial cheers in the theater, and then the cheers erupting when he stands in the light. I actually got chills remembering that moment. That was my first time rewatching that scene since seeing it in theaters.

Man - I'm not sure they'll be anything in my lifetime again in theaters that will elicit some of the theater responses those late Avengers movies had.

Winter Soldier is my favorite, so definitely would see that one again in theater.

But damn, ragnarok in a full house would be electric.

Infinity War is such a masterful combination of characters and situations. I remember feeling like my head was going to explode watching that leaked trailer from the Comic-Con that year - the crowd is like shockingly quiet at the end of the footage before the title comes up watching Thanos beat the **** out of Iron Man.. Endgame is more of a greatest hits movie, while Infinity War is just scene after scene of "holy *****" moments.

I don't understand where y'all live where all of these movies elicit such big crowd responses.

There have only been 1-2 times in my life where the theater was interactive and one of those times was for one of Friday the 13th movies in the 80s. The crowd was mostly black so it was raucous as hell with women screaming and beer bottles rolling down the aisles.

Otherwise, I saw almost every MCU and Star Wars movie at the theater and never once did the crowd react like they seem to with everyone else.

I guess it is a random thing. Lots of loud reactions to Thor's arrival in Wakanda in Infinity War,Godzilla blowing radioactive fire down the MUTO's throat in Godzilla, and to Captain America wielding the hammer in End Game. This was in Katy. In the 80s in Lake Jackson, I recall lots of cheering during Red Dawn.

I remember there was what seemed like an eerie silence when the credits rolled in infinity war. That was such a brutal ending.

Some of it also depended on when you went as well. I usually tried to go opening weekend when the crowds were the largest in the north Richmond / Katy area.

Also, we certainly romanticize some stuff.

But yeah, there were cheers for Cap in the scene I mentioned, cheers for Thor when he arrives in Wakanda.

In End Game, there were cheers when Cap lifts the hammer and when Black Panther stepped through the portal.

In The Force Awakens, there were cheers for Han when he stepped on the Falcon.

Definitely lots of cheers and applause at the end of Rogue One in theaters.

Honestly it's so much more fun when a packed room of people that love something as much as you do are all getting in to it.

There were multiple times during force awakens when there were cheers……Rey calling the lightsaber during her fight at the end with Kylo also got some cheers and applause in our theatre…..would've blown the roof off the place had it been Luke but hey….

The only truly interactive movie I have ever been to was Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Really depends on the theater and the time of day. If you go at night on Opening Weekend, people are probably making a night out of it and more apt to be in a celebration mood.

Dating myself, I remember the roar at Return of the Jedi when Vader turned on Palpatine to save Luke - as a 9 year old me, there was no way to see that coming - and the crowd actually chanting for "Rocky! Rocky! " during Rocky IV when he starts taking it to Drago.

When the Special Edition of Star Wars came out in 1997, going to see A New Hope was like watching an episode of Happy Days when the Fonz walks in - each OT character got a roar of applause when they first showed up on screen.

For the Marvel movies, I really remember the gasp of realization from Endgame when the shot switches from Thanos without the stones to Tony having them.

The Force Awakens also had a huge one when we realize the "garbage" ship on Jakku is the Falcon.

My most unexpected one of the last decade is probably from Creed in 2015, a movie I never dreamed could be that good or that emotional, when Rocky tells Adonis that he loves him and to go knock Pretty Ricky down and the trumpets from "Gonna Fly Now" kick in. I pumped my fist and cheered and I'm pretty sure every other guy above a certain age in the theater did as well.

I've just never been in a movie where people cheered. And Ive been to plenty of opening nights.

Guess it's just luck of the draw.

IMO, it's probably more of a big city thing. I've experienced cheering/applause in theaters more times than I can count or remember in LA, but never once in my hometown in Texas.

Endgame and No Way Home were the loudest two for me. When Cap finally summons the hammer, and when Andrew Garfield first appears, we might as well have been at a football game when the home team scores. 900+ people straight up screaming/yelling/clapping. The loudest roar you can imagine, to the point where we couldn't hear a single word of dialogue. It was so damn fun.

It's real awkward when you watch it at home without yelling. They kinda pause for applause.
