I would have rather seen Anya Taylor-Joy in the role, as she was initially rumored (and likely passed, for any number of reasons), but Garner is a great consolation and I'm sure will do just fine.

I'm incredibly disappointed in this casting, but only because it lessens the chance that someone will have to say "Norrin Radd" in the film.

Yes and no. She was a twin Silver Surfer alongside Norrin Radd, so unless they have both, they're not really following any comic storyline.

Seriously, though, there have been rumors of a solo Silver Surfer movie or series down the line, so I wonder if they could introduce her male counterpart in something like that? As in, they've been separated for this movie for some reason, but then they reunite in a post F4 movie/series?

Of the four, reports have Sue Storm as technically the "lead" of the movie. It's apparently slightly more her story than anyone else's. If so, considering some of the best villains are often funhouse mirror versions of the hero in some regard, at least thematically, I could see this iteration of the Silver Surfer being a "reflection" (no pun intended) of sorts of Sue. Again, thematically speaking, in that they share some kind of similar trait or their histories echo each other in some way that resonates with Sue, serves as a warning, etc. That, and physically it's also telling that both Anya Taylor-Joy and Julia Garner share the same, slender/blonde look as Vanessa Kirby, which feels intentional to me. I don't know, I could be way off, but that's what I'm thinking as of now.

Here’s my guess : Garner is gonna be the Silver Surfer from the F4’s universe at the beginning of the film, when they get switched to another universe and get in the MCU we know, they meet another Silver Surfer, the one from the MCU, and Stanfield was told he would play that one
