She's been a pretty central character in the X-Men comics over like the last 30 years, was also in a few of the more recent films played by Elliot (Ellen) Page.

Have you seen X3: The Last Stand or X:Men: Days of Future Past? She was played by Ellen (now Elliot) Page. She had substantial screen time in those films.

I haven't seen those in years and iirc they were forgettable to me. Last time I read any comics was 30 years ago or so Soni guess that explains it. I've never really cared for any of the lesser known X-Men anyways. Guess that explains it.

I saw both of those once but have no memory of that character.

Her first appearance was 45 years ago. 1980 was 45 years ago.

I have heard of the character, but I know only one of those actors, Bardem.

Kitty Pride is probably one of the top 10 most utilized X-Men comic characters of the last 45 years, but really hasn't been used a ton in other forms of X-Men content for whatever reason.

She was played by Ellen Page. There was no identity delusion yet when the movies was made.

I get her mixed up with Dazzler.

Bunch of anti-semites in here forgetting the Jewish girl!

But it was an integral part and reason for her character of course.

Magneto is Jewish. He's really into metals. Maybe this version they will have him covet gold as befits his background.

No no, he quite clearly does not care for metals. He gave the coin back to the nazi in the movie. Didn't you see?

She at least wears a Star of David.

She was name-checked in the great Weezer song "In the Garage" from the blue album.

It's crazy that A) this starts filming next month, and B) there's currently not another MCU movie scheduled to release between The Fantastic Four: First Steps in July and Avengers: Doomsday in May '26. You would think Marvel would have one other movie scheduled for, say, February '26, but I guess not.

Honestly that sounds kind of nice. Hopefully F4 is good and then build hunger for this one. No need to slap in a needless movie nobody wants.

It's an obsession for people like him. The need to call something like that out, in degrading fashion - in a Marvel thread on the internet no less - is a delusion in and of itself. At least he got the satisfaction of earning 10 stars/virtue signaling points for it so far.

Really hoping Disney, which has bought the Fox entertainment properties since the early X-Men films, does not follow the trendline with The Acolyte.

That show did not even get a S.2 after Trumpers got a hold of the work, calling it "woke" ect. Artists - especially auteurs - deserve the space to work and create, and the right is way to quick to criticize. Let's see what Doomsday brings, especially for BIPOC Representation.

Definitely going to see it in the theaters.

I saw a bunch of the Marvel movies with my youngest over the years but he's out of college and a Marine now so I'll have to go alone. Doubt I can get my wife to go with me but maybe I can talk her into it.

You are not alone on this one
In the 80s she was one the main X-men character.. she was extremely popular and reference in Buffy the Vampire slayer and many pop culture references in the 90s and early 2000s.

Marvel wrote her out in the mid 90's but she has since come back just as strong. She was feature in the X-men Evoluation and Pryde of the X-men cartoon series.

She is known for being Wolverine side kick before Jubilee, train Ninja skill that are enhance by her phasing ability, her creepy romance with Colossus and later w/ half the X-girls, and of course Lockheed.. a pet dragon that she stole from Magix. Oh at one time she was also a member of the Guardian of the Galaxy.

Frankly a movie that did her justice would be welcome.

*** correction: replace Lockjaw w/ Lockheed .. thanks dcaggie04 for the catch ***

dude what? That show was awful and hardly anyone watched it.
Redstone

The point is that I really hope Disney does not follow the precedent of The Acolyte: advances of BIPOC Representation (especially in creation and show running), more modern storytelling, fresh perspectives…

And yet, cancelation. No to season 2, after facing (rather problematic) backlash online.

We have a new Captain America, for example, and Disney needs to stand strong in the face of some rather unfortunate criticism. We can do better, but it takes all of us.

I think Kitty Pryde is a little spare but she's definitely an X-Men staple.

Personally, I kinda hope they let Storm rest for a movie or two. Wolverine as well.
