Agree that she was a iffy in the role last season, but I thought she was great in this episode.

She's gotten better, but her scenes for much of season two were not great imo and I wouldn't put the blame entirely on the writing.

I found the premier to be pretty good, looking forward to the rest of the season.

Finally got to watch the premiere yesterday and thought it was pretty good, what did everyone else think? Not the best episode of the series or anything, but I think it effectively set the table for the rest of the season.

Thought it was good for a season premier. I liked Amos recognizing Naomi was no longer his moral compass, and siding with Holden because he still could be that for him. Thought the brief space battle over Ganymede and the Bobbie's mag-walk to the airlock were some awesome VFX work.

I also thought Bobbie was great this episode, and think Adams has gotten way more comfortable in the role since S2. I know I sort of dissed her a few posts back, but I really do hope this is the case. Bobbie is a favorite character of mine and these next few episodes are likely going to be big stages for her. "Hitch your tits and pucker up, it's time to peel the paint." No idea why but I loved that line. The Razorback was perfect too.

Glad we got a shot of the protomolecule left on the Roci, I'm assuming that will be the Investigator's home. Really hoping we get the return of Thomas Jane for a "Hey. We need to talk." line this season.

I only caught up with Ep 2 yesterday. What a great space battle.

The Churn podcast recap of episode 2

So, I'm really enjoying this season so far. I think Adams as Draper has found the character this season, and everyone else in the show has been pretty great. Not sure about Elizabeth Mitchell, but we haven't seen that much of her in comparison to all the other characters.

Gotta agree. I wasn't big on Bobbie, but she's really become what she was clearly meant to be. Also loved Amos (who continues to be my favorite) coming onto the bridge just after the coup was put down and being sad he missed out. Gotta say I'm even warming to Nevasarala's actor.

I may be enjoying this season the most of the the three so far, though not sure I can quite pin down why.

Amos is hilarious. Comes up the stairs, drops Martian to the deck, and then delivers the line. And did the line in typical, deadpan Amos style.

Close second to Westworld, but pretty much same.

Finally caught up tonight, i can't help but wish this show had the budget of Westworld or sooner if the Netflix shows because the story is so good.

I didn't love Draper last season but really like her this season.

Cancelled Hopefully Netflix picks this one up since they want an emphasis on Sci-fi.

It sounds like they got a bad deal from the beginning. What a bunch of idiots. Syfy used to be a lot better but then they changed their name and it went to downhill.

I've been worried about this for a while, I just don't think enough people take SyFy seriously enough to be watching this show. If it gets picked up by Netflix or something this could actually be good news eventually.

It's about ratings, and the masses like stupid ***** I hope someone else picks it up. It's way better than the Lost in Space reboot on Netflix.

Disappointing but not at all surprising. I've been successful at getting 1 friend to watch the show of all the people I've told about it, and even I don't watch the show live (Just on their SyFy app). Seems like a perfect fit for Netflix since I think they own the international distribution rights and their recent committal to Sci-Fi, but I'm sure its not as simple as that. Hopefully it get picks up, although I did see one of the authors on Twitter mention that they made sure the ending isn't a cliffhanger this season. If for some reason this show doesn't get picked up, and you enjoy the story/concept, it goes with out saying that you should check the books out (I mean, read them regardless, but especially if you're curious about the rest of the story). Even if you aren't big on reading, the books read like an action script and are pretty easy to plow through. Audiobooks are solid as well.

The most recent episode was really good though, I appreciate how they were able to make an incredibly compelling episode that seemed to focus very little on the main cast. The mutiny, the admiral's motivations, etc. made for some really good, tense tv and the next episode should be awesome.

I have been avoiding news about the Expanse because I wasn't caught up until last night. Great season from a series that keeps ratcheting up the tension. I came here to join the discussion and just saw the news on the cancellation... WTF!? I'll be hoping and praying Netflix picks it up.

Adams as Draper has grown on me. I thought it was a huge miscast as I also invisioned a Brianne of Tarth type when I read the books. The scene in season 2 when she runs over to the UN was well done and that is when she won me over.

Agreed. The actress playing Draper is starting to hit her stride now.
