With how much this board loves Taylor Sheridan (as do I), I'm legit surprised by how many "meh"/"hard pass"-like posts I'm seeing. I thought there would be WAY more excitement for this, for that fact alone. Sheridan teaming with Michael B. Jordan to tell a revenge story set in the world of Tom Clancy sounds like a TexAgs wet dream. Instead, people are b/tching that this isn't faithful to what sounds like some pretty dated source material? Huh? This looks awesome. Sign me the hell up.
It probably will be a great movie.. but fans of the source material hate when you stray to far from it. It is the same issue w/ World War Z.. if the movie was called Zombie War .. folks would have loved it more. WWZ was a great movie in it's own right and didn't have to borrow from a great book. (Would love to see a Netflix series about WWZ book... just sayin that would be awesome.. jump from story to story with only the narrator as the common element between them) Starship Trooper is another example.. good popcorn film but the very small fans of the book were upset with how much different the adaptation to the movie.
Not saying Hollywood can't stray.. just be faithful to the material .. see Lord of the Ring series.
To be fair, I will watch it because I love Michael B. Jordan in everything he has done so far.. but this won't be Without Remorse for me.. I will write it as "random title.. better lead to good Rainbow Six" .. in order for me to enjoy it. .. also i am in the Liev camp. I always read Clark as a guy that could pass as a nobody.. but secretly a weapon.
