It's a fantastic read. One of the board favorites of the last few years.
I liked it more than The Martian, but Ryan Gosling is not even remotely what I imagined the character to look like.
Full agree on both counts. I liked it better as well, and dude was a nerd's nerd in my mind and nothing like a GQ model.

That shot of her drawing the smile on the glass, with the way they pull the focus, and then line it up to his mouth was really, really cool.
