Just saw this last night. That was a fun movie! I know the rom-com genre (and comedy in general) is basically dead, but as an unabashed male fan of the genre, I'm glad to see this film have the level of success it's having.

Yes I know the first one was no masterpiece of writing or acting but my college buddies and I probably watched it a dozen times because it was so fun. I sincerely hope this new one catches some of that same magic.

I mean, that's the literal definition of the first film, lol. It doesn't get more stereotypical than Twister. That's partly why the 80s and 90s were the golden era of action films. You put enigmatic actors in ridiculous situations that always play out like you expect. I think The Meg films prove that it still works if you find the right actors and the right amount of cheese.

4 separate biopic films are in the works about each member of The Beatles to all release in theaters in 2027.

Sam Mendes will direct each film which will be interconnected stories, one from each band member’s POV.

I'm intrigued but only because I wanna know what they were doing. Don't bring in Ferris or Cameron (Sloan is fine tho she can come back) and maaaaybe the only reference to the original movie is random background shots. Think "22 Short Films About Springfield" from the Simpsons.

Borderlands 2 is probably the most fun I've ever had playing a "loot hunter" video game, and specifically because the characters were so good.

Movies are so f/cking BACK.

I'm not at all celebrating the "downfall" of the superhero genre. They'll return in a big, big way next year, for the better, and I, for one, cannot wait.

But between THIS, Dune, Oppenheimer, Top Gun: Maverick, etc - and Furiosa the coming May, Twisters in July, and Gladiator 2 in November - if feels like a balance is being restored in the world of blockbusters, with either more of an adult or throw-back flare, and it's so damn exciting to see.

This, specifically, feels like a long lost '90s epic, in the best possible way, that we're somehow seeing for the first time. I've never been a big western guy, but am suddenly champing at the bit for both chapters this summer.

Man, what a trailer.
