Seinfeld began 30yrs ago and ended over 20yrs ago.
Friends began 25 yrs ago and ended 15 yrs ago.
It makes sense that a random viewing of an episode of friends from 2002 might feel like it "holds up" better than a random seinfeld from 1992. Bush2 feels a lot closer than Bush1 (even though I would primarily associate both with clinton era).
All I'm saying is that using "90's nostalgia" as a reason for enjoying Friends more than Seinfeld doesn't make a lick of sense.
I enjoyed both shows in their heyday (well I didn't watch Friends much after about '97/'98) so I don't really have a dog in this fight. Just seemed like a strange qualifier to me.
I think it's strange you're that interested in dissecting my post on a very random and meaningless topic. But if I must, it's because my wife and I can directly relate to being in our mid/late 20's, college, adapting to actually having to be an adult, careers, dating, being engaged, getting married, having babies, etc,. And in that same time era (or close enough - we graduated in 97, met that same year, married in 2000, first kid in 2005). So in that regard it's gives us some sense of nostalgia to the time period.
Seinfeld has literally nothing relatable for us. So no nostalgia factor. No connection.
Anyway, who cares?
