Interested in this as well. I watched the trailer expecting to laugh my ass off but it didn't happen. Hoping the show is better. I like that Abbott is in it from Vice Principals.

Funny... my wife loathed Eastbound and Vice Principals and thoroughly enjoyed this one.

Loved Eastbound and Vice Principals, turned this one off about midway. The dark ending comment makes me want to polish off the 2nd half at lunch today.

I enjoyed it but, I felt like it was trying too hard compared to east bound and down and vice principals


It might take a few episodes to find its footing.

I don't have an opinion yet but I plan to watch the whole season. I like the other Danny McBride shows.

I'm hoping the sibling's fringe characters we met in episode 1 are a good part of the show.
The fiancee, converted Satanist, and baby dick Chad, have some potential.

The subsequent episodes moving to 30 minutes will hopefully help. This is not the kind of show that can survive being an hour, and while I know it had some setup to cover which I'm sure drove making the premiere an hour, I think that hurt the premiere.

Not sure what I think so far, but I'll prob stick with it bc every other Danny McBride show on HBO has been worth it.

The tone of this show is much darker than I was expecting, and I'm not quite sure how I feel about that yet. I'm interested enough to keep watching, though.

While I'm certainly not saying it's on the same level, this has a lot of the same hard-to-watch factor that I originally had with the office. Danny McBride's character is truly cringey.

We stumbled upon this show almost by accident. Wife and I absolutely LOVED the first episode. We laughed at all the big, sophomoric stuff but also at the smaller, more subtle stuff (like the boyfriend's nose job storyline). We even cringe-laughed at the very dark ending.

I was less amused by the second episode. IMHO, I think it was a mistake to identify the blackmailers so quickly. I thought it added a sense of intrigue and paranoia when we didn't know; but we now know why it was necessary to do so.

Can't wait to see Walton Goggins next week. He's a peacock, you've got to let him fly!

I like it thus far. Will keep it in rotation a couple more weeks.

Ep2 much better

I really like this show so far. Mcbride seems to grow with each try. Eastbound and down was funny but simple. Vice principals was the same basic character but had a crime mystery attached to it to keep additional interest, and now this has themes on religion, blackmail, family conflict, power dynamics etc.

I liked it. Will continue to watch. Some really good stuff.

So far my favorite character is the sister and the ex satan worshipper. Not sure why but they both crack me up.

Im going to keep watching.
