Great ending, pretty clear based on how they closed it they were expecting one season, or at least wrapping things up in case it was just one.

We were speculating on how many times Walton Goggins took to get through his scene in the car last week. Reminds me of the bloopers for the jay and silent bob movie with Affleck and Damon breaking up over and over during their "Good Will Hunting 2" scene.

One other note on this season, John Goodman was great.
They made him three dimensional against all of the other caricatures, you really got the feel that even when he was doing power and money grabs and other things, somewhere in him he was a real preacher driven by the right things...And Goodman really brought that character to life.

and he breaks the bobble head then when he realizes it was Jesus, they have to put it together before they do anything else.
Completely unrelated note, but I was reading some Danny McBride interviews last night. He told a story about Kanye West flying to SC to hang out with him. When he got there, Kanye pitched the idea of a movie about Kanye's life, with Danny McBride playing him.

John Goodman is a tragically underrated actor. Loved him in Argo and in Flight. Best compliment I can give him on the Gemstones is that he's not trying to be funny in any of his scenes, he's just playing his character and it's hilarious.oragator said:

His character is the glue. The beauty is the dialog constantly harps on Amy Leigh being the glue but now it's Eli. It doesn't feel like he is because of how they're all acting out but we'll see for however long the show goes that it was him all along.
