On E1, this show does take easing into and is definitely different but the video scene was funny with the **** shot right over McBride's shoulder.

And in a less fleshy post, this show settled in so fast. Just like Vice Principals. Mcbride/Hill combo (and whoever else is part of their team) is hitting on something really solid.

Judy Gemstone is low-key one of my favorite characters. The scene at the DMV where Keefe is telling Kelvin how much he loves him and that he would kill himself for Kelvin if he asked him had me rolling on the ground. I thought they were alone until Judy was like, "What the f***?!?!"

Car Pranks is the funniest line of the show so far.

I also love where they're going with the Kelvin / HS girl storyline that will surely end horribly

I just looked it up and the actor playing Keef is/was a Groundling. It's pretty crazy how many big names came up through that program.

I appreciate that Danny McBride has finally learned that he doesn't have to carry a show by himself. He is trusting the ensemble, and what a glorious cast he has assembled. Not a dud in the bunch.

I think it's a combination of this being his third series and the time we're living in. After two successful series on cable, you've got the credibility to go out and hire a great cast like this. Also, jumping between TV and movies is a non-issue nowadays whereas TV was always a step down before.

Experience is big too. Eastbound was only his 5th writing credit.

You can also get a better cast if you promise shorter runs. No idea about the Gemstones plan, but Vice Principals was always going to be 2 seasons and that's it.

Keefe is my mvp for the latest episode. I could see in episode 1 where they would be taking this character and it's going there

Agreed this is just the right amount of Danny McBride and he delivers almost every scene

I get why people wouldn't like this weeks episode as much, but I really enjoyed it. It had emotional depth, and Goggins was great. Danny has grown so much in what he can do,

But the really cool thing about this episode is that Danny and Edi wrote that song misbehaving, and they did it in a few hours. That was Jennifer Nettles by the way for those that didn't catch it,
