How long do you want to ignore this user?

I do think he has mentioned he is going to gender swap one of the Mistborn crew due to under representation of females in Mistborn era 1…. Breeze would make the most sense but I think he mentioned Ham….

Swapping Breeze would mess up the storyline with Allriane. Ham would be easier since you never meet his family. Or Dockson. Heck, just have OreSour played by a female.

Breeze would require swapping Allriane so that Wax could exist

Good point. Forgot about her. Was just thinking strength vs emotional manipulation

I always pictured David Tennant as Hoid

I said this elsewhere, but even though he doesn't match the physical description I always hear Alan Tudyk in my head when I'm reading his lines.

No, no... Alan Tudyk has to be cast as Nightblood, obviously!

I'm unsure the confusion around Stormlight. That series is done. The second arc is going to be primarily new characters.

The series is just going to cover Stormlight 1. As to timing

2028 - WoK
2029 - WoR
2030 - OB
2030 - SL2 book 1
2031 - RoW
2032 - WaT
2032 - SL2 #2

Book release every two years means 2040 for SL2 book 5. Best case. So 2036-2041 for Arc 2 of the show. Color me skeptical.

That's even assuming he doesn't take 2-3 years to finish ASOIF.

5'11. In warrior he always looked tall because everyone else is short. I'm guessing that's how the show will do the tall thing anyway.

He definitely has the look. Especially the ability to grow that kind of facial hair. Just throw some long hair on him, and I think he looks perfect for the role.

That was my initial thought but hes already 36 so will probably be too old.
That show had a lot of good actors that would have worked, but feels like we're seeing an influx of asian actors lately so hopefully at least 5-10 of them are decent enough actors when it comes time

I do like the idea of casting younger, relatively unknown actors for most roles. That allows you to really look for actors who fit the roles perfectly.

Then try to get an older big name for roles like Taravangian, Dalinar, and some of the other High Lords.

Dalinar is probably going to prove to be one of the more difficult roles to cast, and I would argue he may be one of the most important roles to have to cast just right. Have to find an older actor in his late 40's or early 50's that has the kind of commanding stature as Dalinar and can carry this show as the cornerstone of our Radiants. If you don't get a strong Dalinar, then I feel like the rest of the show will suffer.

I can't wait until that role is cast.

I wonder if they go for a big name for Hoid/Wit.

For Mistborn I imagine Kelsier will be a big name and the rest unknown or B/C tier?

I mean... I'm in the Henry Cavil boat for Kelsier. I'm sure he's on the phone with his agent, right now, trying to get a role in one of these.

Granted, I do agree with others that he would be a perfect Wax, but we probably won't see that on screen for another 6-10 years.

I actually think by the time it comes out Cavil will be the perfect age and have the physical presence to be Dalinar. Never thought of Kelsier as a super buff dude in my head.

Hopefully he has a very solid support (review and edit) staff for the script. It seems like he lost or ignored a lot of editorial feedback in Wind and Truth

Whoever they end up casting in all these roles, I can't wait until the news starts leaking out and we start hearing the various casting rumors. This is going to be so freaking fun!

The Hoid casting will be very interesting. That has to come with the commitment to be a cameo in pretty much everything they adapt. It will be fun when the non-readers first jump on TexAgs to ask why this guy, who had a cameo in Mistborn, is also in The Way of Kings. The rest of us: "hmm... good question..."

The story is 100% his. Any feedback he gets is almost exclusively continuity and editorial. That was the part I liked most about Dragonsteel - he was on several panels and you got good exposure to his process.

I agree with you on Kelsier, I always pictured him more lean than steroided out.
Tom Hiddleston would be great.

Plus, to be blunt, it will save them on budget. Which can then be directed towards other critical areas, such as the CGI and set building.

Tom I think might be a little too slight of build and not quite...seasoned looking enough?.

I was thinking maybe Nikolaj Coster-Waldau? He has the build and that beaten, toughened, "the world has had it's way with me already" aura I always pictured in my head for Kelsier.

I think visually, Warbreaker could be the most stunning filmography if they make it. Since the color spectrum IS the power structure on that world, you could do something like this effect

and make a really awesome intrigue/romance movie with it, also I know everyone has been talking about who Henry Cavill should play, he would be an awesome Lightsong.
Lathspell

I see Tom Hiddleston as Lightsong.
