Adventureland was the most personality and acting I've ever seen her show. Great movie.

Drinking Buddies is the only movie I've seen in the OP, and Moon is the only other one listed in the thread I've seen (based on TexAgs recommendation a few years ago).

Moon is a lot better, but I liked Drinking Buddies, too.

I haven't seen Blue Ruin yet (I need to), but that reminded of me of Green Room, which is fantastic, and from the same director...

GREEN ROOM (2016)

I caught that thing on a plane a few years ago. Weird watching Jean-Luc Picard as a Skinhead.
I think it made the airplane playlist due to the untimely death of the new Chekov.

I'll add a few of my Bollywood faves

AIRLIFT (2016)
Movie about the Indian workers trapped in Kuwait after the invasion by Iraq in 1990.

NEERJA (2016)
Movie about the Indian flight attendant who saved many lives during a 1986 hijacking of a PanAm flight in Pakistan

GO GOA GONE (2013)
Movie about some young people who party so hard they turn into Zombies until some Russians show up (which is even funnier after traveling to Goa myself - it's been invaded by Russians)

Here's another one I forgot: The Dish, with Sam Neill. It's an Australian film loosely based on truth, about how NASA used a large radio dish in Australia to communicate with Apollo 11 on the moon mission. It has a deft sense of humor and is very gentle and funny, and moving, too. I highly recommend it.

Blue Ruin - one of the best revenge films ever

Watched Blue Ruin last night. Pretty good. Brutal. Watch it. It's on netflix.

Timecrimes

It's a Spanish film, so it has subtitles, but I really liked it. I didn't post a link to the trailer because you should NOT watch it. It gives away too much info and spoils the film.

Apologies. I tried to list films that are "great, but lessor known", at least in my opinion (especially for the youngsters on this forum).

The Outsiders is likely the most underrated movie of all time. Directed by Francis Ford Coppola

Let's look at this cast - none of which were stars at this time:

Matt Dillon
Tom Cruise
Rob Lowe
Ralph Maccio
Emilio Estevez
Diane Lane
Leif Garrett (OK, he was a teen start then)
Tom Waits
Patrick Swayze

Movie was classic - a great production that introduced to us some of the hottest stars of the 80s and 90s. Easily the most underrated movie I've ever seen.

I don't know man, the Outsiders was a pretty popular movie when I was a kid in the 80s.

Brick (2005) - A film noir murder mystery set in high school. It totally shouldn't work but it does and it's great.

Atomic Blonde (2017) - Not as lesser known but I find a lot of people haven't seen it. Charlize Theron as a badass MI6 agent in the 80s from the makers of John Wick.

A lot of bad takes here. I'll return shortly to begin a 3 part recommendation list.

The list will be in 10s, beginning tonight and ending mid-week. I might add a 4th or 5th deca, depending on how long the bad takes continue.

Good news, Road to Perdition is on Newflix now. This movie has it all! Hank's vs Newman, road trip, father son, murder, mobs, hit man, 1920's America, it's wonderful! And I feel underrated

I found a copy at Target for like $10 a few years back. I rarely buy physical DVD/BLU-RAYS, but I definitely grabbed that bad boy
