Thanks to the OP, started watching Locke...

It's starting pretty slow.

Locke was ****ing awesome. If you would have told me I would be enthralled by a movie about a phone call in car I would have laughed at you.

Thanks to this thread I watched Blue Ruin last night. I enjoyed the suspense of the movie but it is a movie I don't need to see again.

Just watched Blue Ruin. Suspenseful, only an hour and a half long. Solid recommendation.

Finished Locke and it did get more interesting but it was just ok.

Watched Goon and laughed out loud at the line about the movie Rudy.

And I nominate "Better Luck Tomorrow" as a great but lesser known movie.

We watched The Nice Guys last weekend with Gosling and Crowe. Really funny and entertaining. That one seems to have slipped under most people's radar.

Yeah I love that movie - so dryly sarcastic. And great chemistry.

That's one I would want a sequel for.

Unfortunately it did so bad at the box office it's unlikely. Only $62M worldwide on a $50M budget means it lost money once you factor in marketing and distribution costs (probably $65M+ total cost).

There was talk of a female reboot or series spinoff - hate that idea - I like THOSE characters. And female reboots of successful franchises don't fare well I can't imagine how bad this would be.

My hope is Netflix or Hulu or Amazon pick it up as a limited series (like Sherlock series) for 6-8 episodes with an overall arc and some minor PI jobs along the way.

Funny, that reminds me of the movie of the same name that I love:

Running Scared - 2006

It's definitely the best Paul Walker movie that I remember seeing.

Tapeheads (1988) - Early career John Cusak and Tim Robbins star in this satire of the music business/MTV. The jokes come fast and silly. Includes a highly quotable Don Cornelius as Mo Fuzz and Sam Moore & Junior Walker as the mythical group the Swanky Modes. I know no one else who has seen it.

From the OP; I have seen Adventureland, Drinking Buddies, Our Idiot Brother, Ruby Sparks, and Your Sister's Sister. Enjoyed them all, but specifically really like Ruby Sparks and Your Sister's Sister.

Adventureland was good and all, but I actually think the lesser known movie with Jessie Eisenberg in it that I really enjoyed was End of the Tour. I don't even know what caused me to Redbox that movie when I did, but it completely floored me.

Another one that so many people have not seem to have seen, but is in my top 10 of the 2000's is Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang. Just such an enjoyable movie. Love everything about it.

Also, one of my favorite movies of all time is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I can watch it any time. I don't know if it is necessarily unknown, but so many people have not seen it.
